Bio

Hi! I am currently a business operations student at Minerva University - ranked as the most innovative one in 2022 and 2023 and accepting only 1% of applicants. Studying at Minerva was one of the boldest choices I made (after my decision to travel solo around Mexico in 2020 to learn Spanish) because every semester, we go to a new country. So far, I have lived in San Francisco, Taipei, Seoul, Buenos Aires, Hyderabad, and London. Adapting to a new place every 4 months (and right away applying for a visa to another one) is definitely a challenge. But what can I say? I am a sucker for change. Especially a positive one. Whether it is for my development or the development of the world around me. I hope to make a change in business operations, making the industry more sustainable and socially responsible. With a deeper grasp of cultures and lifestyles around the world, I will soon be ready to embark on my professional career and take steps towards my goals.

Growing up in Lithuania, a small but resilient country in the Baltic region, has profoundly shaped who I am. My heritage is a tapestry woven from rich traditions, a storied history, and the enduring spirit of a people who have consistently fought for their freedom and identity. One of the most formative experiences of my life was participating in an exchange program to the United States. There, I had the unique opportunity to teach American students to sing Lithuanian folk songs and dance traditional folk dances. This was more than just a cultural exchange; it was my first significant encounter with people who knew very little about my homeland. Many assumed Lithuania was still part of the Soviet Union or Russia, a hurtful misconception given that my country has been independent for over three decades. This experience underscored for me the importance of educating others about Lithuania's true identity and its long struggle for liberty. During my time in the U.S., I frequently encountered questions that revealed stark misconceptions about Lithuania. Some people thought we lived in an underdeveloped country with no access to modern technology or basic utilities like electricity. It was disheartening to see how little was known about the significant progress and achievements of my nation. Lithuania is far from an underdeveloped country; it is a hub of innovation and technology. For instance, we are among the world leaders in laser production, and the app Vinted, a leading online marketplace for second-hand fashion, originated in Lithuania and became the first unicorn business in our country. These achievements are a testament to the ingenuity and hard work of Lithuanians. I want Lithuania to be recognized for its positive contributions to the world. Our talented innovators and strong economy, which has grown remarkably since independence, are just a part of our story. Lithuania's GDP growth and economic resilience highlight the strength and determination of our people. Our heritage is not just about the past but also about the present and future contributions we are making to the global community. Being Lithuanian means sharing a heritage with honorable people who have consistently fought for their freedom. Our history is filled with examples of loyalty and bravery. From the January Events of 1991, where unarmed civilians stood up against Soviet tanks, to the peaceful Singing Revolution, Lithuanians have demonstrated an unyielding desire for self-determination and democracy. My Lithuanian heritage is important to me because it defines my identity and fuels my aspirations. I am inspired by the legacy of my ancestors and motivated to contribute to my country's ongoing story of progress and innovation. I want to make a positive impact, to proudly say that I am Lithuanian, and to ensure that the world recognizes the hard work and dedication of our three million people. My heritage is a source of pride and a call to action, reminding me that I am part of something much larger than myself—a vibrant and enduring culture that I am committed to sharing with the world.
