Bio

My goal in life is to help any African American identifying girls willing to learn and understand that many things in this economy are possible, by exploring the depths of cultures and the psychological influence of society. Understanding my position in society, known as the next generation, to build a movement and create awareness of racial issues and make a statement through social media. Has caused me to find a stronger passion for my future and the future endeavors of my fellow peers. Especially after the continuation of falsely accused deaths in my black community, even with wrongfully monumental events, such as George Floyd and Breonna Taylor's death. There must be a transformative approach to impede these events from continuing. These events ignite my future, as I focus to gain a career in psychology, which will aim to decipher the marginalized confusion of African lineage and the lack of resources surrounding black communities in America leaving us at a monumental disadvantage. I will start my own non-profit organization focusing to educate African American youth to break out of the disposition the workforce has claimed on their futures and gain the experience, pride, and motivation to untether corrupt stereotypes. Teaching them not only racial injustice and the presentment of highly qualified careers but also the importance of financial literacy. I am also an NCAA D2 collegiate Women's Track and Feild member.

The book I implore everyone in the world to invest their time in is "PET" by Akwaeke Emezi. In this captivating novel, readers accompany the young protagonist, Jam, as she introduces us to her utopian birthplace, Lucille. This idyllic town is protected by angels who vanquished all monsters, evil, and wrongdoing long ago. However, when a secret escapes and disruption strikes Lucille, Jam's curiosity propels her on an unexpected journey, where she unwittingly calls out to a monster, or perhaps an angel, for assistance. Akwaeke Emezi skillfully delves into the dichotomy between good and bad, challenging the simplistic distinctions that shape our thinking and perpetuate stereotypes. Society often adheres to a black-and-white perspective when it comes to categorizing actions and people as good or bad. We rely on past behaviors, learned cues, and stereotypes to differentiate the deceivers from the virtuous bystanders. In Lucille, the monster Jam calls PET challenges this perception, offering her a new lens through which to perceive good and evil. Through Jam's exploration of Lucille's history and her relationship with PET, she comes to realize that the town's depiction of angels as white heavenly creatures and monsters as black shadows is an oversimplification. Jam confronts the fear that prevents the town from understanding the blurred line between good and bad. Evil can manifest itself subtly in the omission of history from textbooks or in the silencing of a child with something vital to share. Emezi draws upon the concept of "the banality of evil" coined by philosopher Hannah Arendt, emphasizing that evil often resides within the mundane. "PET" challenges readers to recognize and confront the true villains among us, moving beyond comforting illusions. The novel provokes introspection, urging us to look beyond appearances and seek the real villains hidden amidst society's fabric. With its poignant exploration of language, communication, and the importance of listening, "PET" guides readers toward a deeper understanding of societal truths about evil. This book opened up my mind to understanding the subjective views we have on those living in the worst environment. The town of Lucille depicted everyone as good due to its subjection as a utopia, though evil lived within. Bad and good do not reside in distinct demographics. By reading "PET," we open ourselves up to a deeper understanding of the world, empowering us to uncover the true villains in our midst and foster a more compassionate and just society.
