I am a High School Senior dedicated to pursuing a career in the medical field starting with a degree in Biological Sciences. My journey is driven by a deep rooted desire to give back to my community and provide care for those in need.
Currently I balance my academic goals with a part time job as a decorator at Publix. This role has taught me the importance of precision and patience along with the value of hard work. I plan to carry these skills with me into my future medical career. I am looking for scholarship opportunities that will help me bridge the gap between my current education and my goal of making a tangible and positive impact on public health.

From elementary school onward, whenever I was asked about my favorite subject, my answer was always the same: science. I still have a photograph my fifth-grade teacher took on Career Day in which I am proudly holding a sign that reads "Doctor." While many childhood dreams change over time, mine never did. What began as simple curiosity about the human body gradually developed into a lifelong commitment to pursuing a career in medicine. Every educational opportunity I have pursued since then has been guided by that same goal.
In middle school, I was accepted into a medical magnet program, where I was introduced to the fundamentals of healthcare and discovered just how much I enjoyed learning about medicine. By eighth grade, I had earned my first CPR certification, an achievement that made my goal of working in healthcare feel more tangible. As I progressed through high school, I continued to seek opportunities that would prepare me for a future as a physician. I earned certifications as a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA), Electrocardiograph Technician (EKG), Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), while also completing the OSHA 10 Hour General Industry course. Each certification allowed me to develop practical knowledge while reinforcing my desire to pursue medicine as a lifelong profession.
As I begin my studies in Biological Sciences at Florida International University, I am excited to continue building upon the foundation I have spent more than a decade creating. I know that becoming a physician requires years of dedication, discipline, and continuous learning, and I welcome that challenge. Every milestone I have achieved so far has only strengthened my commitment to serving others through medicine.
One of the accomplishments I am most proud of is my academic record. Throughout all four years of high school, I intentionally challenged myself by enrolling in 11 Advanced Placement courses while balancing extracurricular activities, medical coursework, and employment. I earned a score of 4 or higher on every AP examination I have completed, including AP Spanish Language, AP English Language, AP World History, AP United States History, AP Government, AP Psychology, AP Precalculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Biology, and AP Physics. My dedication to academic excellence earned me both the AP Scholar with Honors and AP Scholar with Distinction awards from the College Board. In addition, I graduated with a 4.6 weighted GPA and earned a 1380 SAT score.
Although I take pride in these accomplishments, they represent more than numbers on a transcript. They reflect years of persistence, time management, and determination. Challenging myself academically has taught me how to remain disciplined under pressure, adapt to difficult situations, and continue striving for excellence even when balancing multiple responsibilities. These are qualities I know will continue to serve me throughout college, medical school, and my future career as a physician.
My journey, however, has involved more than academic success. Since the eighth grade, I have worked while attending school to help support my educational goals. Balancing work with rigorous coursework has required careful planning and countless sacrifices. Many evenings that could have been spent studying or participating in extracurricular activities were instead devoted to work. Managing both responsibilities has strengthened my work ethic and taught me the value of perseverance, accountability, and financial responsibility. While these experiences have helped shape the person I am today, they have also shown me how difficult it can be to pursue higher education while carrying significant financial obligations.
Receiving scholarship assistance would allow me to dedicate myself more fully to my education by reducing the financial burden associated with earning a medical degree. Rather than dividing my time equally between employment and academics, I would be able to devote my energy to coursework, undergraduate research, clinical experiences, and service opportunities that will better prepare me for medical school. This opportunity would not only improve my academic performance at Florida International University but also provide greater financial stability as I continue along the demanding path toward becoming a physician.
Medicine has been my dream for as long as I can remember. Every certification I have earned, every challenging class I have taken, and every hour I have spent working has been motivated by that goal. I understand that becoming a physician is not simply about academic achievement but about lifelong service, compassion, and a commitment to improving the lives of others. With the support of this scholarship, I will be one step closer to fulfilling the dream that began with a fifth grade Career Day sign and has since grown into a purpose that guides every decision I make. I am committed to making the most of every opportunity I receive, and I hope to one day give back to my community by providing compassionate, high quality healthcare to those who need it most.

I have always had a passion for medicine. Even as a young girl, I centered my identity around my passion for science, and by extension, medicine, even to the point that for Christmas I would be gifted college level medical textbooks, at the age of 9. I proudly represented my future career in elementary school career days by labeling myself as “DOCTOR.” This interest grew along with me over the course of my time in school, channeled into a passion for learning and a dedication
to excellence. In middle school I officially joined the biomedical program, and vastly furthered
my preparation in highschool. During my four years of high school, I have centered my academic career around the biological sciences and medicine. I have earned certifications as a CNA, CMAA, EKG Technician, and EMR, as a result of continuous dedication to my passion, shown by my 40 clinical hours as an intern at a long term care facility and in class resident care skill checkoffs. Apart from hands-on training in the medical field, I have taken multiple rigorous
advanced courses related to my aspiration, namely AP Biology, Physics, Psychology, and Calculus AB and BC.
My goal is to make an impact in the medical field by treating every patient with the compassion, respect, and care they deserve. Exceptional healthcare extends beyond providing the correct diagnosis and treatment. It means listening to patients' concerns, building trusting relationships, and advocating for their well being. As a future physician, I hope to create a welcoming environment where every patient feels heard, respected, and safe throughout their healthcare journey.
I also plan to contribute to the advancement of medicine through continuous learning and a commitment to innovation. By staying at the forefront of emerging technologies, research, and treatments, I hope to improve patient outcomes and provide the highest quality of care. Additionally, I aspire to mentor future healthcare professionals, inspiring them to pursue medicine with the same curiosity, empathy, and dedication that have guided my own journey. Through compassionate patient care, lifelong learning, and mentorship, I hope to leave a lasting and meaningful impact on both my patients and the medical community.
In the end, I want my influence to be determined by both the lives I better and the lives I save. Throughout my career, I hope to make significant contributions to my patients and the larger medical community by fusing knowledge, compassion, and a strong commitment to service.
