Bio

I am a senior at Freeport High School, ranked 7th in a class of over 600 students. As an aspiring child psychologist and future psychology major, I care deeply about helping young people feel supported and understood. At school, I have worked to make conversations about mental health more open. I helped create a pamphlet outlining the resources available to students in my community. As Student Government President, I organized my school’s first Mental Health Fair, which included stress-relief activities and a guest speaker, Legislator Debra Mulé. Through Teen Mental Health First Aid training, I have supported peers during difficult moments, wanting to be someone they can always turn to. I am also passionate about civic engagement and community advocacy. I organized voter registration drives at my school and interned with Legislator Judy Griffin to better understand how local policy affects families in my community. As a bilingual student, I love translating for families at school events because I have seen how meaningful it is when parents feel included in their community. I enjoy mentoring students through student government and helping them bring their own ideas to life. As captain of Future Problem Solvers and Prom Chair, I have learned that leadership and created experiences that bring people together. Everything I do is rooted in trying to give back to the community that has shaped me, and I hope to continue combining psychology and public service in the future.
