It is very important to me to help others who are struggling with addiction because I have seen firsthand how deeply it can impact individuals and families. Addiction doesn’t just hurt the person using—it affects every single person around them. It can break up a family quickly, leaving behind pain, confusion, and a sense of hopelessness. I know this because I lived through it. My mother struggled with addiction during my childhood, and it tore my family apart at a very young age. I felt helpless, scared, and isolated—like I couldn’t talk to anyone about what was happening. That experience left a lasting impression on me and made me realize how crucial support and understanding are for both those facing addiction and their loved ones. Because of what I went through, I want to be a source of hope and healing for others going through similar situations. I understand the shame, fear, and silence that often come with addiction. I also understand the power of empathy, connection, and consistent care in someone’s recovery journey. No one should feel like they have to fight that battle alone. That’s why I am committed to making a difference in this area throughout my career. As I pursue my nursing degree, I plan to use my career to help those struggling with addiction by advocating for compassionate care, providing education on substance use disorders, and supporting recovery programs. Whether I am working in a hospital setting, a community health clinic, or even in medical sales, I want to promote a message of recovery, dignity, and second chances. My long-term goal is to build a platform that goes beyond traditional healthcare—possibly through my own medical sales company—where I can fund and support outreach programs that help individuals get the resources they need for treatment and long-term recovery. Helping people struggling with addiction isn’t just something I want to do—it’s something I feel called to do. My personal experience shaped who I am today, and it drives me to make sure no one feels the way I did growing up. I want to be the voice that says, "You’re not alone, and things can get better." Because of what I went through I feel like it has helped shaped me into a better and stronger person today. Which I wish things would have been different I am very thankful because I would not be as strong as I am.
