I am currently a senior at Booker T. Washington Magnet High School. l will be graduating on May 19, 2020. I also am a single, teen parent and it s not easy going to school, work, and caring for my child. I work at Chick-Fil-A and I have been working there for a little over a year now. I only get paid minimum wage, so it is a challenge trying to provide everything that he needs. My son, Karson, attends daycare while I am at school. I am prepared to do the extra work it will take to remain on the right track, such as staying up late to finish work or getting up in the middle of the night to tend to Karson’s needs. I was the captain of my basketball team this past school year. I continued to play basketball because it helped me to feel normal again. I want to still be able to live a normal life because it is not over for me.
