1. I found TXT in the Spring or Summer of 2023, after the release of The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION. 2. One of the most important characteristics of a MOA is to always support the members and each other. After all, it is our namesake: “Moments Of Alwaysness”. However, I think it is also important to hold each other accountable for every action we and the members make, which in itself is another form of support. 3. I love all 5 of the members, but my bias is Beomgyu. I love his vocal tone and I see myself in him a lot. He always does his best to improve everyone’s mood despite how he feels. I relate to that. He and I just want to bring joy to the people we care about. 4. My ult biases are Beomgyu and Minji of NewJeans. Like Beomgyu, Minji also does her best to cheer up her members and she is such a solid foundation for the group. 5. I have a lot of favorites, but my top three are 0X1=Lovesong, Skipping Stones, and Beomgyu’s solo, Take My Half. Every time I hear the beginning of 0X1=Lovesong, I get chills. Every aspect of the song evokes a visceral reaction. The music video portrays Yeonjun in a less-than-perfect mental state. I have always loved how TXT isn’t afraid to use their art to speak up about things like mental health. Skipping Stones is also an incredibly beautiful song. The meaning of the song resonates with my own journey with depression. They sing about how, one day, you will learn to accept yourself. The entire song is sung in Korean, but I felt as if the emotions still reached me through the music itself. I loved all the members’ solo songs, but Take My Half is the one I keep coming back to. Beomgyu’s vocal tone really gets its chance to shine here. There’s a part at the end during the last “take my half” where his voice cracks a little bit and it makes me shed a tear every time. This is a song that really feels like Beomgyu poured his soul into. I’m glad he was given a chance to create the type of music he loves. 6. I have had the chance to see TXT live, and it is still the only concert I have ever been to. I went with my best friend, who also listens to TXT. I didn’t have a MOAbong or any merchandise, but that didn’t matter because I had so much fun and I’m so glad I was able to have that experience with one of my favorite people. I couldn’t have picked a better concert to be my first. 7. My favorite album concept is Melancholy from The Name Chapter: FREEFALL. Honestly, the biggest reason I like this one is because of the dog that appeared in some of the photos. From what I saw from the behind-the-scenes, he (or she?) seemed so sweet and comfortable around the boys. The outfits were also amazing. They were kind of simple but all the little details and distressing made them very visually interesting. I think these concept photos matched the tone of the album the best. Also, Hyuka blond hair. 8. Currently, I am paying for school with government loans and with support from my parents, which is such a blessing. 9. This scholarship will help me reduce my student debt and relieve some of the financial pressure put on my parents. I think it will be especially helpful for housing because my city is suffering from a housing crisis, so rental rates are very high, especially for college students. 10. TXT has shown me that all my hard work and struggle will contribute to my success. They have been through so much in their journey to debut, and 7 years later, they are still together and are so loved by many. 11. With my education, I hope to pursue a career in psychiatry so that I can help create a world where discussions surrounding mental health are no longer stigmatized and people are free to learn how to understand themselves and how their minds work.
