Bio

My goal in life is to be happy with the life I was given and make a positive impact in the people that I meet, interact or work with. I am mostly passionate about children and their individuality and development. I like to be able to have lived this earth and made sure I made a difference in the kids that I help or took care. I like to see them explore their surroundings and to be independent on what they do. Majoring in recreational therapy with a background in child and adolescent development go hand-in-hand with the career I want to further pursue in Occupational Therapy or OT aide.

      Hobbies Matter
My favorite hobby is playing volleyball. I've learned to love beach volleyball more than indoor because it gives you the chance to communicate with your partner rather than five other people on the court. Beach volleyball gives you the opportunity to develop your overall skills in passing, setting and hitting altogether. It softens the blow when hitting the sand, trying to save the ball from falling. I enjoy it so much because of the open space the beach has to offer. Once you get a good rally done, the cardio from running back and forth that could easily sink your feet in heavy sand, is quite the HIIT training you need. The way I can easily scream and shout when the game was good or when the play was tricky and sneaky. Screaming for whatever reason is something I get to do to get all the energy out while everyone else basks in the glory of the sun. Beach volleyball develops your sense of perception while figuring out how to find the ball as it flies up in the air and directly aligns with the sun, blinding the eyes for a few second, where the wind blows in different directions, and if sand particles get stuck on the ball as you try to pass it, blinding you with sand in your eyes for the second time. It has been a great past time for me and my siblings whom have also learned to love and understand the sport. It bonds us closer together and makes us great competitors.
Lo Easton's “Wrong Answers Only” Scholarship
Why I think I deserve this scholarship is because I don’t know how to finesse the system whilst being undocumented and I primarily use my little to no income over food and gas for my 22-year-old Honda CR-V that drives about 205 miles on a weekly basis and finesses me on rewarding it a $70 full tank of gas twice a week. My academic and/or career goal is to finish my bachelors in Recreation Therapy and becoming an Occupational Therapy Assistant. Helping kids and older adults to rehabilitate their day-to-day lives in a form of activity. That time I overcame an obstacle, I tackled it body and head on. Literally. Got hit by a car. As I flew and got dragged on concrete ground a few feet from where I was mid-crossing the street, thinking about how depressed and worthless my life was. The universe sent me that big of a sign to snap out of it and get my life together. I slowly took life seriously after that moment.
