Benjamin Alire Sáenz's "Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe" is a captivating novel that intricately explores the complexities of identity, friendship, and self-discovery against the vivid backdrop of the 1980s Southwest. It is an engaging story that follows the journey of two teenage boys as they navigate the complexities of life, love, and friendship. Set against a backdrop of 1980s El Paso, Texas, the novel beautifully explores the deep bond that develops between Aristotle and Dante. Through their shared experiences and conversations, they uncover hidden truths about themselves, each other, and the world around them. With profound truths artfully woven throughout the narrative, the book invites readers to reflect on the many layers of love and connection that bind us together. Through the contrasting yet interwoven lives of Aristotle and Dante, Sáenz deftly illustrates the transformative power of relationships in shaping a person's sense of self and place in the world. Aristotle's introspective and guarded nature is brilliantly juxtaposed with Dante's open-hearted curiosity and vulnerability, highlighting the intricate dance of growth and acceptance that occurs within true companionship. The main character Aristotle, a brooding and introspective teen, struggles with his feelings of anger and confusion, embodying the internal conflicts many young adults face as they navigate the complexities of growing up. On the other hand, Dante exudes a sense of openness and curiosity, embracing his vulnerabilities and emotions with a refreshing honesty that challenges Aristotle's guarded nature. In addition to unraveling the mysteries of personal growth, the novel touches on larger themes of acceptance, forgiveness, and the beauty found in human connection. Sáenz's evocative prose offers readers a panoramic view of the emotional landscapes navigated by the protagonists, emphasizing the universality of human experience and the resilience that blossoms from embracing one's authentic self. Aristotle's reluctance to show vulnerability contrasts sharply with Dante's willingness to express his emotions openly, highlighting the importance of authenticity and emotional intelligence in fostering genuine connections. As the narrative unfolds, it becomes evident that Aristotle and Dante's journey toward uncovering the secrets of the universe is not merely a quest for knowledge but a profound exploration of the human condition and the power of empathy. Moreover, the novel encourages readers to confront societal norms, prejudices, and the courage required to shatter the barriers between individuals. The book's vibrant tapestry of characters and experiences invites readers to reflect on their journeys of self-discovery and the intricate web of relationships that shape our perceptions of the universe. The profound problems we encounter in our odysseys depict the struggle for acceptance, the search for purpose, and the longing for connection. The problems they had to go against their culture, identity, emotion, family problems, mental health, and much more that is evident in Aristotle and Dante's journey. Know how they would overcome their problem accept who they are and find a purpose in life than negatively viewing the world. Through the unwavering bond between Aristotle and Dante, Sáenz compellingly advocates for the transformative power of love, empathy, and the pursuit of truth in navigating life's complexities. As readers submerge themselves in the novel's evocative prose and resonant themes, they become active participants in the unveiling of profound truths that echo through the ages, urging us all to embrace the beauty of our revelations and connections. The author skillfully weaves a narrative that captures the essence of the human condition that people could relate to or share similar issues in life. As well as the human condition of certain things and how they view differently from others around them. Aristotle and Dante's poignant exploration of these themes serves as a poignant reminder that as we navigate the labyrinth of life, it is through understanding and empathy that we can begin to unravel the mysteries of the universe and find solace in our shared humanity.

BTS has become my absolute favorite K-pop group as they have made a significant impact on both my personal life and global culture. Their music, performances, and messages have fueled me to become more active, nurturing my love for dancing which I never knew existed. Dance led to keeping me healthy and learning new dancing more. I also connected with others who shared the same interests as me and thanked my friends who showed about them because they helped and we connected more with each other. Learning about their struggles and journey to success has been incredibly inspiring, showing me that with dedication and perseverance, any obstacle can be overcome. Their interviews and videos prove what they have been through and how hard they try in life to make a change. Knowing K-pop their always a rumor and haters trying to ruin them or get them canceled and it doesn't;t just happen to BTS but to other K-pop artists, singers, and dancers all around the world. Through their music and story, BTS has exemplified the importance of not giving up and wholeheartedly pursuing your dreams, a life lesson that has left a lasting impression on me and countless others around the world. BTS is not the only group that left an impact on my life and is also one of my favorite K-pop groups Stray Kids. Stray Kids holds a special place in my heart as well as many other K-pop groups. But witnessing their journey, especially when Felix struggled with the language barrier, showcased their unwavering support and solidarity as a team. The way the group rallied around Felix, helping him understand and grow within the group, touched me deeply. Moreover, knowing that they were told they weren't good enough and should quit, makes their success even more inspiring. Through their resilience, determination, and music, Stray Kids have not only impacted my life positively but have also left a remarkable imprint on global culture, inspiring countless individuals to pursue their dreams despite obstacles because they didn't give up even though they were discouraged about becoming a K-pop idol as well of what their expectation is about them. BTS and Stray KId have become popular and famous people worldwide spreading their music and messages to others even though they have to deal with language barriers along the way they work hard and try to connect with fans and learn their language to communicate with them. K-Pop is a great genre of music for people to listen to, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Some people prefer to stick to the music that has already made an impact on their lives and brings them comfort. Personally, K-Pop has made a positive impact on my life, and I'm grateful that my friend introduced me to it.

Growing up I had difficulty choosing what I wanted to be when I went up, living with family and seeing them. I was inspired by the buildings and infrastructure in my community, which sparked my interest in civil engineering. Being the first in my family to attend college, I pursued a path in the engineering industry to challenge myself and create a lasting impact on my surroundings, make my family proud, and lead a good example to my siblings and my cousin. This field truly captivates me, offering a perfect crossing of creativity, this journey into the engineering industry as a civil engineer is both intriguing and exciting. Studying civil engineering showed me how fascinating the field can be, igniting my passion for a career that combines creativity and problem-solving. As a woman in a male-dominated industry, I am driven to inspire and empower other women to join the engineering world, showing them that they have a valuable place in shaping the built environment around us. Problem-solving and innovation, each project is not just a job but an interesting journey toward shaping the world around us meaningfully and building the future. Being Mexican-American and a woman also has its advantage because it helps break stereotypes, that are toward being a woman and being on culture and race. Women are seen as not brave enough to do construction, weak, and afraid. While being Mexican, half of Mexicans are construction workers and seen as pitiful because they can't get a good job, and 40% of immigrants work to make a living. My whole family are construction workers and I'm proud that their my life they help and support me with any decision I make or help me make the right choices. Even though they're difficult times like my parents separating and living with my grandmom trying to save up money to move out without help from my grandparent. Although I am aware of what happens in major or college classes, I hope to make good choices that will make my life easier and lead to accomplishments, even if they are small. Improvement is crucial, and it should be continuous. Giving up is not an option. Wanting to become a civil engineer, my primary objective is to inspire and contribute to the growth of society in a positive way by impacting people's lives. Choosing a career in the A/E/C industry was a natural decision for me as it perfectly aligns with my goal of making a tangible difference in the world by improving the built environment. My dedication to engineering drives me to explore solutions that not only enhance infrastructure but also create sustainable and efficient spaces that benefit communities and individuals alike.

Education, to me, is much more than acquiring knowledge; it's a stepping stone towards achieving my dreams, a continual journey of learning, and a pathway to opportunities that will shape my future. As a 17-year-old Mexican American and a senior at my high school, I view education as a tool that I can use not just to advance my personal growth but also as a means to transform the fortunes of my family. Being a first-generation family member, with aspirations to go to college, education is my beacon of hope that will enable this transition. Firstly, education is the pivotal key that will unlock multiple opportunities for me in the future. It not only equips me with the necessary knowledge and skills but also instills a sense of purpose, self-confidence, and resilience that will aid me through my future endeavors. I acknowledge that it's more than just the grades on paper it is about learning to think critically, solve problems, and adapt to changing circumstances. As a high school student, I've always strived to put in my best effort. This understanding has shaped my attitude towards schooling; transforming it from a tedious task to an exciting opportunity for personal and intellectual growth. With the determination to not let my background define my future, I set lofty ambitions for myself. My primary goal is to enter college as the first member of my family and reap the benefits of higher education. I believe this will not only provide me with a unique set of challenges to overcome but also serve as an inspiration to my siblings and future generations within my family. Furthermore, I yearn to use my education not just to secure a comfortable life for myself but also to carve a path for others to follow. Therefore, I have set my sights on professions that will not only ensure a stable life but also provide me the satisfaction of contributing positively to society. My interest primarily lies in Veterinary Science and Civil Engineering. As a prospective Veterinarian, I aim to champion the well-being of animals. On the other hand, as a Civil Engineer, I aim to transform communities through the design and construction of infrastructure. These aspirations hinge on my desire to impact my environment positively and contribute to the betterment of society. Being a first-generation family member going to college, I am faced with the task of navigating this venture independently. Challenges such as the financial burden of attending college and lack of mentorship are constant roadblocks. I am optimistic and determined to overcome these hurdles. To eliminate the financial barrier, I am actively applying for scholarships to fund my education. I see this process as an opportunity to advocate for myself and my dreams. Additionally, my drive to excel in school is fueled by these challenges, as I realize that my performance and accomplishments are significant determinants when competing for these scholarships. Education to me is a powerful tool, a stepping stone to a better life. Despite the challenges that come along my path of being a first-generation college student, I am enthusiastic and feel equipped to tackle them head-on. The journey towards fulfilling my life goals might be a long one, but the perceived reward, a stable life entwined with the ability to make a positive impact on society makes it worthwhile. The aspirations to advance in Veterinary Science or Civil Engineering will not remain as mere dreams but turn into reality through hard work, determination, and education. Thus, education is the guiding light that takes me one step closer to achieving my dreams every day.

Books play an integral role in moulding our lives by shaping our viewpoints, instilling values, and providing a treasure house of knowledge. In my life, the books I've read have carved my perspectives, influenced my opinions, and shaped my goals. They have not only educated me but have also been instrumental in my personality development. One of the greatest impacts that books had on me was the transformation of my worldview. Non-fiction books, such as 'Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind' by Yuval Noah Harari, for instance, broadened my understanding of how societies evolved and the psychological influences that molded human behaviors. It made me realize the importance of understanding the world, its past, and its progression, and how it directly influences our behaviors, customs, and beliefs. In contrast, fictional books like '1984' by George Orwell made me aware of the possibilities of a dystopian future, which could arise from unchecked totalitarian regimes. It instilled in me a greater awareness of political shifts and societal changes around the globe, which urged me to be involved and contribute to society actively. Books are not just expansive repositories of knowledge; they are tools that help shape our skills. During my pre-teen years, I was introduced to 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' by Roald Dahl, which imagined a world full of sweetness and joy. More than the story, the book engrained in me a love for language and creativity, honing my writing skills and enhancing my imagination. On the other hand, biographies like 'The Diary of a Young Girl' by Anne Frank, provided firsthand insight into the harsh realities of the world, like war, oppression, and injustice. Reading such narratives not only increases my awareness but also ignites a desire to challenge such issues. The varied spectrum of knowledge that books offer has also greatly influenced my personal and professional goals. Books such as 'Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead' by Sheryl Sandberg have inspired me to strive for gender equality in all aspects of life, including the workplace. Likewise, reading self-help books like 'Think and Grow Rich' by Napoleon Hill, has guided me in setting personal growth and financial goals. The book taught me the significance of persistence, a positive attitude, and personal beliefs in achieving success, shaping my disciplinary and work ethics towards achieving my objectives. Books have a unique ability to transport readers into different worlds and perspectives. By diving into the diverse world that books offer, I've learned to be more empathetic and understanding. Novels like 'To Kill a Mockingbird' by Harper Lee gave me a profound insight into racial prejudice. It exposed me to the harsh reality of racism and how it affects people's lives. This has shaped my understanding of the importance of empathy, equality, fairness, and justice, and inspired me to stand up against such social injustices. Books are instrumental in shaping a person's beliefs, attitudes, aspirations, and behavior. The books I've read have profoundly influenced my worldview, developed my skills, shaped my goals, and cultivated empathy within me. They have fostered a love for continuous learning and instilled in me the aspiration to contribute positively to society. As I continue to navigate through life, I look to books as a source of guidance, knowledge, and inspiration.

My name is Alondra Rosales Rosas, a typical 17-year-old, shouldering tasks that are atypical for someone of my age. As I attempt to navigate through the dynamics of complex life, I carry with me dreams and aspirations that require the necessary nourishment education can provide. I, thus, want to share my story, discuss my career goals, and explain how this scholarship can facilitate my journey to improve my life and the community. I hail from a humble Mexican-American background, where the sprinkles of cultural richness and the spirit of hustle paint my everyday life. I was born and raised in the United States and also was raised under extraordinary circumstances, alongside a spirited characteristic that allowed me to be both a child and an adult. My parents separated not too long ago but keep fighting forward and supporting my family mostly my mom. The separation resulted in my siblings and I moving in with our grandparents. We exchanged familiar surroundings for a vibrant household where I assumed the role of a caretaker for my siblings and a housekeeper. Between babysitting and cleaning the house, there is so little time and energy left to focus on academic pursuits or seek employment, regardless of the growing financial needs of our family and my aspirations of further education. The introduction of your scholarship opportunity brings a shimmer of hope amidst these challenging times. Given my circumstances, it's not financially feasible for me to pursue my studies without external assistance. This scholarship would significantly ease the burdens that accompany the pursuit of higher education. It would mitigate the financial strain, allowing me to focus more on my studies and less on sustaining my family through a job. My career goal is to use my degree primarily to uplift my personal life and, most importantly, give back to the community that raised me. I want to be an inspiration to other kids from similar backgrounds, showing them that their dreams are valid and achievable, regardless of their current plight. Our society needs proof that difficulties don't define one's destiny, and I aspire to be that evidence. My career journey also aims to harness my potential that extends beyond caring for my siblings and cleaning houses. I want to utilize my disciplined nature, responsibility, and the resilience life has taught me in a professional capacity. The experiences I've acquired over the years have shaped my outlook on life and my desire to succeed, which I intend to infuse into my chosen career which I'm deciding either civil engineering or veterinarian. To sum up, I am a 17-year-old Mexican American, trying to navigate life while carrying a considerable amount of responsibilities. This scholarship serves as not just financial aid, but a beacon of hope, lighting up the pathway leading to my career goals. The journey will be full of obstacles, but with the application of values cultivated over the years and the academic tools this degree will provide, I look forward to overcoming them. This scholarship, therefore, is more than just a need; it is an investment into a future that is capable of bringing positive transformation in both my life and the community I hail from.

Aviation, as a mode of transportation and exploration, has been one of the greatest marvels of technological advancement. Nowadays, it is an essential aspect of our lives that is not limited to just travel but opens the door to countless opportunities. This essay explores the multifaceted aspects of aviation that make it an exceptionally intriguing field, along with an understanding of administering an aviation degree. Furthermore, it delves into my inspiration for becoming an aviator and my prospective contributions as an aviation professional to serve the community. Aviation, since its inception, has been fostering the growth and development of economies, societies, and individuals globally. This aspect of aviation being a catalyst for global progress is what makes it even more interesting. The basic constituents of aviation like aerodynamics, the physics of flight, and the mechanics of aircraft intertwine with technologies and result in extraordinary miracles. It's a field where science, engineering, and art coalesce to make the impossible, possible. An aviation degree is not just an academic certification but a tool that shapes individuals into thorough professionals. An aviation degree enhances one's technical skills, provides in-depth knowledge about aeronautical terms, laws, and theories, and instills significant attributes like leadership, teamwork, and decision-making. I plan to utilize the aviation degree as a platform to build a comprehensive knowledge base and apply it practically to foster efficiency and progress in the field. The inspiration to become an aviator is rooted in a passion for flying. What seemed to be a fantasy in childhood turned into an ambition that guided my path toward becoming an aviator. The unique ability to control a machine that soars through the open sky grants an exceptional viewpoint of the world from above, and voyages across geographies are a dream profession for many, including me. The journey to becoming an aviator is where the dream meets reality and nurtures skills, discipline, and knowledge. An aviator does not just fly an aircraft but also aids society and furthers development. An aviator promotes connectivity between geographically distant locations, provides rapid transport of goods, and creates job opportunities that improve society economically. I envision myself as an agent of change with the means of aviation, scaling the heights of the sky, as well as community development. To summarize, the beauty of aviation lies in its blend of art and science, its integral role in global development, and its influence on individuals. An aviation degree, through its multidimensional approach, paves the way for exciting opportunities in the field. It is through this educational journey that I channel my passion and inspiration to become an aviator and serve society. The journey of an aviator evolves from flying planes to serving people, and this vision of community service in the field forms the core of my motivation and aspirations for the future.
