I discovered my passion for medicine and caregiving at an early age. My aspiration of becoming a nurse started in my senior year of High School at Marshalltown, Iowa while working as a nurse aid at a nursing home. I was part of a wonderful care team at the Alzheimer’s and dementia unit where we assisted with activities of daily living with residents. The provision of care and the temporal and gradual relief of the patient was intriguing and moving. I worked closely with residents and learned so much about myself I learned that I am a compassionate and caring person and I enjoy helping others.

My passion for nursing is deeply rooted in my desire to make a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of others. Nursing is a unique profession that allows individuals to blend scientific knowledge, compassionate care, and critical thinking skills to provide support during some of the most vulnerable moments in a patient’s life. The ability to offer comfort, advocate for patients, and work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes is what drew me to this field. My personal experiences and career aspirations have further solidified my commitment to nursing, and I am particularly eager to pursue my career as a nurse in the ICU, where I can provide intensive care to those in dire need of immediate, life-saving attention.
Throughout my journey, I have gained invaluable experience working as a CNA float, which has been a transformative part of my nursing career. This role has provided me with exposure to various departments and allowed me to work with a wide range of patients, all of whom presented unique challenges and care requirements. The dynamic nature of this position has helped me sharpen my clinical skills, while also enhancing my adaptability, communication, and patient assessment abilities. I have been able to work in fast-paced environments, gaining firsthand experience in caring for patients with complex medical conditions, which has expanded my understanding of critical care. The experience of working directly with patients and assisting with a range of tasks from daily care to more intensive procedures has reinforced my desire to enter the ICU, where I can be part of a team making crucial decisions for patients in life-threatening situations.
As I embark on my nursing career in the ICU, I hope to make a significant impact on the lives of critically ill patients by providing both compassionate and highly skilled care. I am committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of my patients while being an advocate for their needs during some of the most challenging times of their lives. I also recognize that the role of an ICU nurse requires a deep commitment to continuous learning and growth. I intend to hone my skills in patient stabilization, advanced monitoring, and emergency response so that I can be prepared to handle any critical situation that arises.
The ICU offers the fast-paced, high-stakes environment that I am eager to be part of, where I can directly impact patient outcomes. I believe my background, along with my experience as a CNA float, has equipped me with the foundational skills necessary to thrive in this demanding setting. In the ICU, I aim to provide the best care possible, working alongside a team of healthcare professionals dedicated to saving lives. I strive to be a nurse who not only excels in clinical care but also advocates for my patients and supports them and their families through difficult times.
By continuously advancing my knowledge, building on my clinical experience, and maintaining my dedication to compassionate care, I am confident that I will become an ICU nurse who makes a lasting difference in the lives of patients. I look forward to the opportunity to further my education and skills, contributing to the healthcare system and providing excellent care to those in need. Joining a team of professionals who share my commitment to quality care is a goal I am excited to pursue as I continue my journey in the nursing field.

I was born in Mexico, and I saw my family struggle with many health disparities. Becoming the first in my family to pursue higher education was inspired by personal ambition and a desire to create better opportunities for myself and my loved ones. Growing up, I witnessed my family's challenges, particularly regarding healthcare, financial security, and access to resources. My parents, despite their hard work and determination, didn’t have the opportunity to pursue higher education, and as a result, their options were limited. While they provided me with love and support, they often could not offer guidance on navigating the complexities of higher education. This resource gap sparked my desire to break the cycle and create a future where I could achieve more.
What truly inspired me was my belief in the transformative power of education. I saw firsthand how the lack of access to education restricted opportunities for my parents and many others in our community. I knew that by pursuing higher education, I could open doors for myself and serve as an example to others in my family who might one day follow my path. Becoming the first to go to college was not just about personal success but about demonstrating to my family that education could be a vehicle for change and empowerment.
My background has played a pivotal role in shaping my career goals. Growing up, I was always drawn to helping others, whether through informal caregiving in my family or volunteering in my community. Witnessing my family’s struggles with healthcare also left a lasting impression on me, fueling my decision to enter the healthcare field. I’ve always felt a calling to give back, and nursing offers the perfect opportunity to combine my compassion for others with my desire to make a tangible impact.
Being the first in my family to pursue higher education has made me more determined and focused on achieving my career goals. It’s inspired me to value education as a tool for personal and professional growth, and it’s reinforced my commitment to pursuing a nursing degree. My background has given me a unique perspective on the importance of healthcare access, and I am determined to make a difference in the lives of others, particularly those from underserved communities. This journey has shaped my passion for providing compassionate, quality care and continues to drive my aspirations as I work toward becoming a nurse.

My “WHY” for entering a nursing program stems from a deep desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others, especially those in vulnerable situations. From a young age, I’ve had a natural inclination toward caregiving, but it wasn’t until my senior year of high school that I realized nursing was the perfect profession for me. I worked as a nurse aide at a nursing home in Marshalltown, Iowa, where I was part of a compassionate care team in the Alzheimer’s and dementia unit. The experience of assisting residents with activities of daily living, while also seeing the comfort and relief we could provide, made a lasting impression on me. I discovered that nursing wasn’t just about physical care; it was about providing emotional and psychological support to individuals who are often facing the most difficult periods of their lives.
This early exposure to nursing sparked my passion for the profession, and I have since worked to build a strong foundation in healthcare. Over the past seven years, I’ve gained hands-on experience in various roles, including as a Nursing Aide, Medical Assistant, and Hospital Assistant. Each role has offered unique insights into patient care, and I’ve developed a solid understanding of the healthcare system. Working in these positions has given me practical experience in patient care, communication with medical professionals, and a broader understanding of the challenges and rewards that come with caring for individuals.
As I progress in my educational journey, I am now pursuing my nursing degree with the goal of becoming a registered nurse. This is the next logical step in refining my skills, expanding my knowledge, and providing more comprehensive care to my patients. I am dedicated to improving my critical thinking, patient advocacy, and clinical skills. I believe that nursing is not just about applying medical knowledge, but also about connecting with patients on a personal level, offering emotional support, and advocating for their well-being.
To ensure I reach my personal and professional goals, I’ve focused on furthering my education and seeking out resources to support my growth. I’ve committed to seeking mentorship, attending professional development opportunities, and refining my academic work with the help of writing assistance when needed. Ultimately, my goal is to make a meaningful difference in healthcare by providing high-quality, compassionate care and advocating for those who need it most. I am confident that through education, experience, and dedication, I will achieve my dream of becoming a nurse who positively impacts the lives of others.

Therefore, it is the ideal platform to further my nursing aspirations. Medicine is such an exciting field that is always evolving like patient care I am at a point to move to the next step in my journey of healthcare. I hope to advance in my nursing skills, patient care, critical thinking, and advocate for patients by pursuing this degree, residency or fellowship; I believe I can make a change while serving God through excellence in professional nursing education, scholarship, and practice. The latter necessitates the acquisition of a bachelor’s degree. I want to advocate for patients by giving them a voice and making sure they are being respected and also by providing the proper care and resources with safety being the top priority.
I have seven years’ experience in the healthcare field having served in various positions. I have served as a Nursing aid, Medical assistant, and Hospital assistant. I have a Medical Assistant certificate. The academic journey has been exciting, and I intend to further my aspirations and qualify as a Registered and Professional Nurse.
Additionally, I am a compassionate person that is willing to learn and create an impact in the nursing field. Further, I have sufficient experience in providing aid to patients in different capacities.

I currently work as a CNA at a major teaching facility in Los Angeles and float between different units like the intensive care unit and the Emergency room. I believe in healing humankind one patient at a time is so important. While delivering acts of kindness. I believe I can make a change while serving God through excellence in professional nursing education. Working with different populations of patients has not also helped me in my nursing career but has also helped me as a person I get to make meaningful connections with my patients.
Additionally, I am a compassionate person that is willing to learn and create an impact in the nursing field. The profession faces various challenges that I look forward to being part of the solution. I am dedicated to caring for people, which aligns with the profession requirement. My satisfaction stems from the relief of my patients and ensuring they lead a comfortable life. Also, I am an active member regarding co-curricular activities. My interests include debating, tennis, and baseball. As a result, I will be an addition to the institution on social goals. Being a nurse has been my goal for most of my adult life. Further, I have sufficient experience in providing aid to patients in different capacities.
