Bio

Hello My name is Alondra, and I am so passionate about vulnerability and Christianity. My biggest dream in regards of the academic area is to go to a University and get a Masters in Nutrition, and become a registered dietitian. I love to sing, dance, and read books about Psychology and Religion. Stepping out of my comfort zone is one of my biggest fears, but everytime I do it I learn something new and explore new things I never knew I would be interested in, for example, I got interested in learning a new language, new kinds of dances and new clubs. I have been in Conroe High School, my extracurriculars were choir and dance. I volunteer with church to help the homeless and speak about the gospel, my position was to serve them with food and make them feel loved. I also volunteered in a Christian Group in Spanish, called "Reunion de Estudiantes Cristianos" for over almost two years, and we spoke to each other about the bible. We had such a sweet community and it is still on but with the current high schoolers. I also have a dream in traveling south america to learn about other cultures and find new friends. But my huge dream is to travel korea and italia because I have seen and heard that their culture is so different and beautiful at the same time. I am an introvert person but I really am willing to step out of my comfort zone and for doors to be opened to me for me to be become a registered dietitian. Lastly, my inner and big dream is to take healthy risks, so I can make a difference in the world by spreading the gospel and spreading love.

      Bold Mental Health Awareness Scholarship
One practical solution for helping more people who struggle with mental health is the presence of a person or the presence of a domestic animal. People most of the time, only needs to be listened to, since not everyone wants to hear an advide but want to be listen to. We as humans need to be a good ear for other humans at all times. Therefore, when doing this, the person can get to the possibility to help someone in their mental health without even knowing the other person is struggling. Moreover, all humanity is struggling with mental health in different areas of their life. So, be a good ear and be present with them. In my opinion, lack of mental health is given by lack of love, lack of attention, lack of communication, or even lack of knowledge. It is highly important to listen to the person struggling when people are talking about their accomplishments of failures, because by just listening to them, the reason the person is struggling mentally or psychologically can be known. Which is why, psychologists most of the time, what they do is listen. By listening to people, I don't mean only listening when the person is in their mixed emotions, or opening up your heart to you. But, when someone is just talking about whay gives the person joy or why do they like or does not like tomato. It can look like something so simple, but if the person is talking about it, is meaningful to them that you listen. Lastly, by experience I say this, I personally do not think I am listened to, because giving advice for them was more important than listening. Giving advice is not bad, but not always necessary, for the person struggling. Be a good listener!
