Bio

I am passionate about learning new things. I want to find my way through life and experience college in both a social and educational way. Learning in college will help me experience life in different ways and help me figure out how to help people in the world. My ideal major would be business or management, so that I can learn more about problem-solving and resource usage. I am the 2-year president of my school's Asian American Pacific Islander Club, and I am part of a Vietnamese youth group! I am a part of National Honors Society, AAPIC, and DECA.

    Ultimate K-Pop Stan Scholarship
How many people know the group, NewJeans? Probably a majority of America with their hit songs, Hype Boy, Cookie, OMG, and Super Shy, which is just to name a few. NewJeans soared to the top of the charts not only in Korea, but worldwide. Although they are popular, how many people know that one of their members isn't actually Korean? Most likely only avid fans will know this information about them. Seeing Hanni Pham, the first female, Vietnamese, member of a K-Pop group has been an inspiration. Especially from a large company like HYBE Labels, seeing someone of Vietnamese culture such as myself has changed my view of K-pop and music in general. Vietnamese artists are not common in the K-Pop scene, with Hanni Pham and one other artists under TEMPEST being the only Vietnamese artists in all of Korea. Hanni Pham is a huge inspiration to me, helping me believe that in any scene, even if I am the only Vietnamese, or even Asian girl, I can still do well. NewJeans has grown from being in a subsidiary label of HYBE to being chart-grossing artists with many fans. Many of those fans not even being K-Pop fans. The popularity of K-Pop has only risen from the release of their music. It's mind-blowing to think that such a new group has the ability to rise up so quickly and become so successful. They are not only an inspiration to me, but an inspiration to other K-Pop groups. Songs such as OMG and Hype Boy have been a global connector between cultures and people all around. Recently, I took a visit to Singapore and Japan, and to my surprise, NewJeans music would be playing in stores, despite the language difference. Advertisements covered the walls of shopping malls displaying their ambassadorship of brands such as GUUCI and Armani Beauty. The global culture has changed drastically, as NewJeans has been the glue that holds together Korea with other countries. Not only has Singapore and Japan been changed by NewJeans, but America has been as well. NewJeans performed at Lolapalooza, only a year into their career and many people showed up just to hear their music. All over platforms such as TikTok, their music is used for people's videos. Every day when I watch the news with my family, (using the platform, YoutubeTV) I hear advertisements for YouTube of their new album, watching their music video, Cool With You. Their influence has changed America's culture and has only been changing it for the better. NewJeans has not been around for long , but everything they have done has helped me realize that even from a young age, I can make an influence in any setting. Whether in another country or in my own, NewJeans has helped me grow as a person and a member of this changing society.
