Through the pursuit of a Psy.D in School/Clinical Psychology, I plan to effect change in how students with PTSD or C-PTSD experience academics. It is my mission to research, develop, and implement a more effective framework for trauma-sensitive schools. Living each day with trauma is a full-time job. Managing one's own survival while simultaneously trying to meet the high expectations placed on students is an impossible task. As such, I would like to answer the question: how can we make schools safer, more productive environments for individuals with trauma without lowering the standards for academic success?
