I'm a young aspiring filmmaker based in Los Angeles, California. I was born in the Philippines, and my family soon immigrated to the United States when I was only about eight years old. My passion for film-making drives from my cultural heritage and my values to showcase our unrecognized stories in the Philippines through public media. I’ve made several short films from the NAI USC SCA Film Workshops and SCA’s Summer Program. I’m currently a high school senior at Foshay Learning Center, and a proud ambassador of the NAI (Neighborhood Academic Initiative) program, which a college-bound program for students who come from low-income families in Southern and Central Los Angeles. Within my high school, I am gladly part of the Foshay Music Leadership Department, as a head of the Marketing Committee and Stage Decoration Committee. I love to lead and volunteer with my fellow musicians in preparation of our school’s musical events and performances. I also play first-chair trumpet player in our band, one of my biggest enjoyment in life! I also stand as a third-time marathon finisher! I am a part of SRLA (Student Run Los Angeles); I train rigorously four times a week, with one long-distance run every Sunday. Running the LA Marathon is definitely challenging, but it’s one of my best experiences that had taught me to persevere through difficult situations.
