I am currently majoring in Civil Engineering and Creative Writing at NCSU, and I have many goals when it comes to my education. I hope to go on to earn a Master's degree and a Ph.D in both of my major fields. As far as career goals, I have not made a set decision on what I want to pursue yet, however my interests as of now are to either work in academia as an English professor, become a Civil Engineer and work up to the position of Senior Engineer or Project Manager, or become a technical writer so that I can merge my STEM and English interests. I also have many goals for my non-academic pursuits while in college. I hope to continue the volunteer work I participated in during high school, which included tutoring elementary school aged children, organizing benefits and other events at my local church, and working with food and clothing donation organizations tied to my high school through the National Beta Club. I also hope to continue my participation in writing and arts clubs, as well as finding organizations and clubs involved with supporting and raising awareness for the LGBTQ+ community. I think that I am a great candidate for academic and extracurricular focused scholarships because I am deeply invested in furthering my education and have worked hard to get to where I am now, and I will continue to put in the effort to further my education and the wellbeing of those around me.
