      Start Small, Dream BIG Scholarship
I am a National Honors student at Grand Canyon University pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a partner at CEI Consulting, an accounting firm that provides outsourced financial and advisory services. My academic journey and professional goals are intentionally aligned, as I am using my education to help grow and strengthen CEI Consulting while building a foundation for long-term success in the accounting profession. Through my coursework, I have developed skills in financial reporting, analysis, compliance, and ethical decision making skills that directly support our firm’s mission to provide reliable, scalable accounting solutions. As an outsourced accounting firm, CEI Consulting has the unique ability to grow by expanding service offerings, improving internal systems, and adapting to the evolving needs of clients across different industries. My role allows me to apply what I am learning in real time, contributing to strategic planning, process improvement, and client-focused solutions. This hands-on experience has reinforced my belief that accounting is not just about numbers, but about building trust, supporting growth, and creating stability for businesses and individuals alike. This scholarship would play a critical role in helping move my vision forward by easing the financial burden of tuition and educational expenses, allowing me to remain focused on both academic excellence and business development. The theme “Start Small, Dream Big” strongly resonates with my journey. I began by committing to my education during challenging personal circumstances, taking small but consistent steps toward academic and professional growth. Pursuing my degree while actively working to grow CEI Consulting has required discipline, resilience, and long-term thinking, but each milestone earning National Honors, expanding my responsibilities as a partner, and contributing to firm growth has reinforced my belief in starting with a strong foundation. My long-term vision is to help CEI Consulting scale its outsourced services in a way that increases accessibility, efficiency, and impact, particularly for small and growing businesses that may lack internal accounting resources. By combining education, experience, and strategic planning, I aim to help build a firm that supports sustainable growth while maintaining integrity and excellence. This scholarship would not only support my educational goals, but also help accelerate the development of a business rooted in service, accountability, and thoughtful expansion. Through small, intentional steps and a commitment to dreaming beyond current limitations, I am working to create lasting value for my clients, my firm, and the community we serve. Growing up the way I did this all will forever change my life.

First and for most I am so sorry to hear about your son. Substance abuse has impacted my life in a deeply personal way, not through my own actions, but through the experiences of those closest to me. I recently lost my mother to substance abuse, and my sister is currently struggling with addiction. Navigating grief while watching a loved one face the same battle has shaped my perspective, strengthened my resilience, and motivated me to pursue stability, purpose, and long-term success. Because I grew up with this my whole life this has always been something I never wanted to be. I strived to be better than what I was surrounded by. The loss of my mother was a life-altering experience. Grief brought emotional challenges that affected every aspect of my life, including my education and personal responsibilities. Learning how to cope with that loss required me to develop emotional strength and healthier ways of processing pain. Rather than allowing grief to overwhelm me, I focused on accountability, structure, and forward progress. I made the conscious decision to honor my mother’s memory by continuing to pursue my goals with determination and integrity. At the same time, my sister’s ongoing struggle with substance abuse has been an emotional challenge that requires patience and strength. Watching someone you love face addiction is painful and complex. Through this experience, I have learned that support does not mean sacrificing personal boundaries or losing focus on one’s own responsibilities. I have found motivation in being a stable presence and an example of consistency, responsibility, and perseverance. While I cannot control another person’s choices, I can control my own actions and direction in life. Education has been a grounding force during these experiences. Pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and earning National Honors has provided structure and purpose during times of uncertainty. Academic success has reminded me that progress is possible even during hardship. Staying committed to my studies has helped me channel grief into productivity and growth, reinforcing the importance of discipline and long-term planning. Facing substance abuse within my family has strengthened my motivation to build a future rooted in stability, responsibility, and resilience. These experiences have shaped my values and reinforced my desire to succeed not only for myself, but also to serve as a positive example within my family. Through perseverance, education, and self-discipline, I continue moving forward with determination and hope for the future.
