Our Destiny Our Future Scholarship
Each person has the ability to make a difference in the world, and I believe that even small actions can create meaningful change. My plan to make a positive impact begins with who I am today and the goals I am working toward. By using my talents, passions, and values, I aim to inspire others, contribute to my community, and leave the world a better place.
One way I plan to make a difference is by being a role model for others, especially younger individuals. As an athlete, I’ve learned the value of perseverance, discipline, and resilience. These lessons have not only shaped me but also given me the confidence to lead by example. I want to inspire others, particularly those who may struggle with self-doubt or face challenges, to see that hard work and dedication can lead to success. Through my actions, both on and off the wrestling mat, I hope to encourage people to believe in themselves and never give up on their goals.
Education is another area where I want to make a positive impact. Knowledge has the power to create change, and I’ve always been committed to learning and growing. As a member of the National Junior Honor Society and a leader in my school, I’ve developed a sense of responsibility to share what I’ve learned. In the future, I hope to mentor or teach others, empowering them to reach their full potential. By helping others build confidence in their abilities and pursue their dreams, I can contribute to a brighter future for my community.
I also want to address the needs of my community by advocating for fairness, inclusion, and understanding. As someone who is proud of my heritage, I understand the importance of diversity and the challenges that people from different backgrounds may face. I aim to create spaces where everyone feels valued and respected. Whether it’s through leadership roles, volunteering, or simply standing up for what’s right, I want to use my voice to promote equality and unity.
Another area I’m passionate about is environmental responsibility. I believe in protecting the planet for future generations. While I may not solve global environmental issues on my own, I can take small steps, such as reducing waste and promoting sustainability in my daily life. By spreading awareness about the importance of protecting our environment, I hope to inspire others to join in these efforts.
Ultimately, I believe that making a positive impact starts with kindness and compassion. Small acts, like listening to someone who feels unheard or offering a helping hand, can create ripple effects. The way we treat others has the power to inspire change on a larger scale.
In the long run, I plan to combine my passions, skills, and values to pursue a career that allows me to make a tangible difference in the world. By staying true to who I am and working toward my goals, I am confident I can contribute to a more inclusive, kind, and hopeful future.
Stacey Vore Wrestling Scholarship
Wrestling is more than just a sport; it is a way of life. From the moment I stepped onto the mat, wrestling has challenged me, pushed me, and shaped me in ways that no other activity ever has. For me, wrestling is not just about physical strength but about mental toughness, discipline, and self-discovery. It’s a sport that has taught me resilience, camaraderie, and the power of hard work. When I think about wrestling, the first thing that comes to mind is the grind. Wrestling is one of the most demanding sports, requiring not only physical endurance but also a deep level of mental toughness. The hours spent conditioning, drilling, and perfecting technique demand commitment and focus. Every practice is an opportunity to push past limits and grow stronger. While other sports might rely on teams or external factors, wrestling is deeply personal. It’s just you and your opponent, one-on-one, battling for dominance. That responsibility is both daunting and empowering. Wrestling has taught me to embrace challenges head-on and to hold myself accountable for my successes and failures.
Wrestling also means discipline. Success in this sport doesn’t happen by chance—it’s earned through hard work and dedication. From maintaining weight to perfecting moves, every aspect of wrestling demands discipline. It has taught me to wake up early, eat mindfully, and stay consistent with my training. These habits have not only made me a better athlete but have also carried over into other areas of my life. Wrestling has shown me the importance of preparation and the value of sticking to a routine, even when it’s tough.I’ve learned that winning is not just about having superior technique or strength—it’s about believing in yourself when it matters most. Wrestling has taught me how to cope with setbacks and use them as motivation to improve. Every loss is a lesson, and every win is a testament to the hard work that goes into becoming better.
Teammates understand the grind and the sacrifices, and they push you to be your best both on and off the mat. Wrestling has created a sense of family for me. Whether it’s cheering each other on during matches or enduring grueling practices together, the shared experiences create unbreakable bonds. The relationships I’ve built in wrestling are some of the strongest and most supportive in my life.
Wrestling has also taught me about self-worth. In a world where many people judge based on appearances, wrestling strips everything down to what truly matters—skill, determination, and grit. The mat doesn’t care about how you look; it only measures your effort and heart. Wrestling has helped me grow into my confidence by showing me that my value lies in my abilities and dedication, not in superficial traits. Ultimately, wrestling means growth. It’s a sport that demands constant improvement. Whether it’s refining a technique, building strength, or working on mental toughness, wrestling pushes you to be better every day. It teaches you to embrace discomfort because that’s where growth happens. The challenges I’ve faced in wrestling have taught me that I am stronger than I ever thought possible and that I can overcome any obstacle with enough effort and determination. To me, wrestling is more than a sport—it’s a teacher, a motivator, and a source of identity. It has shaped my character, taught me resilience, and given me a sense of purpose. Wrestling is a reflection of life itself: it’s about falling and getting back up, about giving your all even when the odds are against you, and about discovering the strength within yourself to keep fighting.
