I am born in the United States with both of my parents being from Nigeria. I have been surrounded with a successful background in my family, with my parents working for both Amazon and Goodyear respectively, as well as my siblings being going to college majoring in Biomedical Engineering. The ability to utilize knowledge from studies to propel myself into a potential, good-paying professional job has encouraged me to also strive for accomplishments regarding my education. Another reason why I am a fan is that he doesn't take the sport of basketball as a life or death scenario. It makes me upset when I see people on social media lose control of their actions when it comes to sports, and as a result, overwhelm athletes with unnecessary pressure. LeBron doesn't let those crazy people control how he lives and how he plays. He is himself and shows his personality in front of the public in many occasions. Being a student athlete has provided me a chance to make friends on the playing field, in addition to in the classroom at school. Playing a sport in high school allows for many individuals like myself to have that short burst of stardom and fame that most of us dream of while watching professional athletes performing at their craft. Many participants often think of athletics as the best part of their lives because of the relationships built from teamwork and togetherness, and it is very hard to dispute those opinions. However, as a fellow student athlete, it is not just the playing field that you can provide an impact on, it is also future education like college or the workforce. With being a student, you obviously learn skills from core classes in order to prepare for college education. Athletics provides the leadership portion of one's development, with communication being an essential part of any team sport. Communication is not only a skill utilized for athletics and school purposes, but it is also a important skill for any job, big or small. Athletics has helped established my comfortability when it comes from working in a role for a group. That is essential for me as I am going to college, where I feel will include many group projects for real world problems. I feel that it provided me a way to improve my mental attributes while being passionate of something I have always enjoyed. Sports are a big part of my childhood, and I feel glad about it.
