I am an only child of a single mother who is a veteran of the Iraq war. She raised me by herself, working a full time job & graduating nursing school. It is because of her that I want to become a nurse. She has taught me what hard work and dedication can help one achieve. I am very active in physical activity & fitness. This aligns with nursing and creates a whole health approach. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when I was 10 years old. This is another reason I want to work in nursing; to help other type 1 diabetics. My ultimate goal is to help others by becoming a nurse. Winning a scholarship would help me achieve my goal because I would not have to worry as much about student loans once I graduate. Thank you for your time.
