When I was very young, an accident changed the way I saw myself and how others saw me. I caught my face and head on fire. An unimaginable moment that left me bald, scarred, and confused. All my hair was burned off, and to this day, I carry the physical reminders of that trauma. Growing up, I was teased relentlessly. I was called “scar face” and made to feel like I would never be considered beautiful. My confidence was shattered before I even had a chance to build it. For years, I struggled with how I looked and how I felt inside. Over time, and through an incredible amount of healing and self-work I learned to love my own beauty. I have always been very hairy. I've had the scars on my face. I was not allowed to wear make up. I had big poors and picked at my skin. Living with all that all of ME it led me to my purpose, to become an esthetician. I could get my face waxed to help with the hair. I learned about diet and stopped picking my skin and started a skin care routine that helped with my poors and acne. I got facials and learned techniques to help fade my scars. At the end I leaned I didn't need or really want to wear makeup. My dream is to help others feel the kind of confidence and self-love that took me years to find. I want to open a spa that does more than provide services. My Spa will be a space where people feel safe, empowered, and seen. My goal is to help clients enhance their natural beauty, not cover it up or conform to someone else’s standards. Whether it's through skincare, facials, or simply providing a kind word in a calm space, I want every person who walks through my doors to leave feeling better about themselves. I know firsthand that confidence can change a person’s entire life. For me, learning how to embrace my appearance helped me find my passion, and my purpose. Becoming an esthetician isn’t just a career choice it’s a calling that connects to the deepest parts of who I am and what I’ve overcome. My scars, once the source of shame, are now a part of the story I proudly carry with me. They remind me that healing is possible and beauty is everywhere. We just need to look at ourselves with open true eyes. Not the stereotype "perfection" that A.I. and social media wants us to believe. By pursuing this path, I hope to create more than beautiful skin, I want to help create peace, confidence, and joy. I’m not just entering the beauty industry. I’m entering the healing industry. I believe that because I’ve walked through the fire, I’m uniquely equipped to help others rise from their own ashes, glowing. Thank you for this opportunity by potentially helping me with my school finances.

From the moment I discovered the world of esthetics, I knew I had found my calling. Skincare is more than a routine—it’s a ritual of self-love. I’ve made it my mission to help people see the beauty in their own reflection. I’m passionate about esthetics because I believe in its power to restore more than just skin—it restores confidence, dignity, and self-worth. I've had this passion since 2011. It wasnt until 2025 that I could start to pursue it as I had stopped building my family. My biggest inspiration is something many people wrestle with every day, social media. As I scroll through countless images of “perfect” people—flawless skin, sculpted features, effortless beauty—I found myself questioning what was real. Then I learned that much of what we see online is filtered, edited, or even generated by artificial intelligence. This digital perfection has become the new standard, and it’s affecting how people see themselves. Suddenly, natural beauty wasn't good enough. That broke my heart. I want to be a part of the change. I want to help others fall in love with their own skin and unique features. Esthetics gives me the tools to do just that. Through skincare, I can help someone clear their acne, reduce the signs of stress, or simply feel pampered and seen. A smile lash lift can enhance their beautiful eyes and not have to worry about make up and so much more. More importantly, I can offer a moment of genuine human connection, a reminder that beauty isn’t about filters or likes. It’s about health and care for your body from the inside out. My dream is to create a space where people feel safe to show up as they are, no filters, no judgment. A space that celebrates uniqueness, encourages healing, and promotes self-love from the outside in. With this scholarship, I’ll continue building my skills and bring that vision to life. Because everyone deserves to feel beautiful. Not by changing who they are, but by embracing who they’ve always been. It would be an honored to win. I'm not a Barber but still in the field of self-care. A mother of 4 that is now done buliding my family(blessed with children). I have finally made a choice to take time for me, to build on my passion, to help others. I work 2 jobs, go to school at night monday-friday, which is about an hour away one way. Keep the house clean, appointment set and all the other mom duties done. Having a little less financial stress would making this journey a lot easier mentally. Thank you for your consideration, I'm sorry for your loss. This is a beautiful way to keep his memory alive.
