In my academic background, I have been very determined to see what I am capable of doing taking rigorous courses throughout my high school career. Taking courses such as Honors and AP classes running from science to history I have a very strong taste for determination and success in whatever situation I have been put in. I have sought tutoring in the past as I have understood that seeking help from others is important in times of need. One specific moment was my Sophomore year in my chemistry class where I was struggling during the first two months of school falling for every test and ultimately falling behind. I took tutoring to succeed in my chemistry class as I understood I wouldn't have been able to pass the class unless I sought help. This showed me to keep an open mind as it taught me to be understanding and open-minded with the input of other people. This allowed me to get an A in the class something I wouldn't been able to do if I didn't ask for help. This showed me the importance of utilizing the school resources when in need. It also showed me my academic ability showing me what I can see in past classes."My family's economic background has played a significant role in shaping my educational journey. My father has always been the sole provider in our household, earning just around a low income per year, while my mother stayed home to care for us. As a result, we faced several financial challenges. One of the earliest struggles I remember is not being able to afford basic school supplies, like notebooks and pencils, which made me acutely aware of our financial limitations. Another challenge was participating in extracurricular activities, such as sports, which required my parents to make sacrifices and stretch our limited resources to cover the costs. Although we didn’t have much, my parents prioritized my happiness and education, and their sacrifices taught me the value of hard work and perseverance. These experiences have deeply shaped my understanding of financial hardship, and they motivate me to overcome obstacles and appreciate the opportunities I now have."During my four years of high school, I have been involved in numerous extracurricular activities such as soccer, cross country, and Avid to better our community. These experiences have taught me to become a leader of my soccer team and my varsity team. It taught me to be committed and be a leader building friendships with teammates/ Cross country has taught me to be determined not to be an easy sport to be part of. Many practices in the hot summer showed me the importance of being committed and determined with the sport. Being part of the Avid activities taught me to value our community and take care of it as much as possible.
