My name is Alexis Hudson. I am seventeen years old and dream on becoming a licensed esthetician after I graduate from High School. Since I was young I was always super interested in skin care especially since I dealt with acne as well as made fun of. Skin care gave me the opportunity to feel better about my self and to outgrow my insecurities. It wasn’t until last year, my junior year that I realized I could turn something I had so much love for into a career. Being a young girl I have so much hope and passion for what I can do in the future with this career. Being a licensed esthetician would mean so much to me as I would be working with people who share the same skin care goals and I would be able to see the progress of how far they come. After getting my esthetician license I plan on getting a certifications in things to further my knowledge so I can be the best as I can be. I also plan on interning at a med spa during my esthetician schooling to gain more knowledge on what it means to be an esthetician and learn from those who have more experience and knowledge than I do. After graduating I plan on starting off in a medspa and working under someone. I’ve often heard estheticians don’t really learn until they are out of their comfort zone out working with actual clients. I aspire to be a esthetician and one day owning my own business. I believe I have the dedication, discipline, and hard work to keep up with the task or owning my own business. My dream is to help people feel comfortable in their own skin. I want to have the business people feel comfortable walking into and want to come back. I also plan on working with those who have the same goals and aspirations as I do. I believe working as a team creates a strong dynamic and I can also lead the path for young men or women who aspire to be an esthetician in the future. Right now I believe there is a huge need for estheticians as well as entrepreneurs. The growing business around me and young women creating there own businesses and even skin care lines has given me so much inspiration and paved the way for what I want to do for the rest of my life. I believe receiving this scholarship would fund my dream. Fund my dream of becoming an esthetician and an entrepreneur paving the way for future estheticians. I also believe it is important to follow the role of those who have passed and moved along. I will always carry Malia’s passion and have her wisdom of being a young entrepreneur to never give up and stick with it.
