I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression when I was sixteen years old. After seeking help and going to therapy, I have learned how to take better care of myself and make sure I never hit rock bottom again.
My first step toward my self-care was going to therapy and speaking to someone unbiased. My doctor would listen to me and offer input and advice. This was a huge step for me and pointed me in the right direction.
Some other ways that I practice self-care are taking relaxing baths, reading books, watching a TV show, or even talking with my loved ones. Although these may seem like simple activities to some, these allow me to take some time and just focus completely on myself. It is extremely important to practice self-care regularly.
I am a stay-at-home-mother so it so even more important to practice self-care because it is easy to forget about yourself when caring for others. Thankfully, I have an amazing partner that allows me to step away and take a break at times.
Practicing self-care regularly has impacted my life in a positive way. It allows to me to destress and not overthink situations or have anxiety. Everyone should practice self-care to keep their physical and mental health in a great state.
