Bio

I am a motivated student with a strong creative mindset and a passion for both graphic design and UX design. I love graphic design because it enables me to inspire others and influence the masses through visual storytelling. UX design excites me because it allows me to problem-solve and create solutions that are truly centered around users’ needs and real-world challenges. Through my work in marketing, I have successfully combined strategy with creativity, helping small businesses establish their presence and grow. I am eager to continue learning, gaining new experiences, and expanding my skills as a designer and problem-solver. My long-term goal is to complete my education and share my passion for design by teaching at various levels, helping others build confidence in their creative abilities. A scholarship would support my educational journey, allowing me to focus on developing the knowledge and experience necessary to create meaningful, user-centered work and contribute to the design community.

There are many people in my life who have supported and influenced me, but the person who has most profoundly helped me realize my full potential is my mother. Her life, work ethic, and unwavering belief in me have shaped not only who I am today, but who I know I am capable of becoming. Although my mother does not hold a college degree, she has built an impressive, successful career through determination, resilience, and persistence. She began working at a bank at a young age and steadily worked her way up, learning on the job and proving herself through her skills and leadership. Over time, she rose through the ranks and eventually became an accounts payable manager. By the end of her career, she was leading teams of more than 15 people and overseeing millions of dollars in government contract funds. Watching her handle that level of responsibility with confidence and professionalism showed me what true capability looks like. Despite everything she accomplished without a degree, my mother has always been one of my strongest advocates for education. She constantly encourages me to never stop pursuing my education because she understands both the challenges she faced without it and the doors it can open. She often reminds me of what she achieved on her own and pushes me to imagine how far I can go with the additional opportunities education provides. Her belief in my potential has motivated me to aim higher, work harder, and take my goals seriously. I have struggled with imposter syndrome and often question whether I truly belong in certain spaces or opportunities. During those moments, my mother is the one who helps me see my full potential more clearly than I can. She reminds me of my intelligence, strength, and knowledge, and makes sure I understand the power I carry because I come from her. When I feel unworthy or doubt myself, she never lets me settle into those thoughts. Instead, she challenges them and reminds me of how far I have already come. Because of my mother, I have learned to recognize my own capabilities and push past self-doubt. Her constant encouragement has helped me step into new opportunities with confidence and believe in my ability to succeed. She has not only shown me what is possible, but has helped me realize that my full potential is something I am still growing into, and that I deserve every opportunity to reach it.
