English is not my first language. It is Spanish. When I was around 2 or 3 years old, I went to live in a small pueblo in Mexico for about a year. About a year later, I moved to a small rural town in Texas. I had a really hard time making friends because I did not know how to speak English and I could not understand my classmates when they spoke. Because of this, I was put in the ESL (English Second Language) program. I wasn't able to learn English until the first grade. To this day, I sometimes still have trouble translating words from Spanish to English. However, learning English was an overall blessing. It has helped me by opening up opportunities to better help my future. Without English, I would not have been able to make new friends, thrive in the American schooling system, and experience new things from the American culture. Music has impacted my life because it has helped me connect to my own and other cultures. Mexican's have a vast majority of music styles. It can range from corridos to reggaetón, to regional, and so many others. All these forms of music have helped me embrace my Mexican culture and it makes sure I never lose my cultural roots. Music has also introduced me to my American culture. Country, pop, and classic rock are some of the American music genres that have helped me learn more about being an American. My dream career field is law enforcement and legal services. I would like to be a family lawyer. With this job, I would love to help bring families together and also help the ones who may be dealing with something at home. After a few years of being a lawyer if possible I would like to transfer to become a federal prosecutor. With this job post, I want to help bring justice and also help the ones who I think may have been wrongly convicted. Finally, after a few years of that, I am hoping with all this experience I will be able to become an FBI agent. This has always been a dream of mine and it would be terrific if I could help make this country a better place for the citizens living within it and the new ones to come from other parts of the world.
