Bio

I am a rising junior at Spelman College majoring in Health Science with minors in Psychology and African Diaspora Studies, pursuing medicine with a clear purpose: to become a dermatologist who addresses diagnostic gaps and health equity disparities affecting Black and underserved communities. This past summer, I completed an NIH-funded research internship at the Naval Medical Research Command, conducting tick-borne pathogen surveillance using DNA extraction, qPCR, and Sanger sequencing, and presented my findings at ABRCMS 2025. I was selected to return for summer 2026. I have also gained clinical exposure through dermatology shadowing at Georgia Dermatology Partners, Steele Dermatology, and Washington Dermatology Consultants, and hold a BLS certification. Beyond research, I volunteer at New Vision Community Outreach Food Pantry and A.G. Rhodes Atlanta Nursing Home, and I am a former track and field athlete. My minors in Psychology and African Diaspora Studies deepen my understanding of the cultural and systemic forces that shape health outcomes, informing the kind of physician I am committed to becoming. I am deeply grateful for any scholarship support that brings my path to medical school, and to practicing dermatology for the communities that need it most, closer to reality.
