The career path I chose was to pursue a degree in accounting. I chose this career path because I have always been drawn to logic and numbers. This stems from the fact that my mom is a math teacher and she was always practicing math facts with me from a young age. I am also drawn to the stability and many opportunities the job has to offer. Coming from a household where money was always tight I find it important to be able to provide for myself and my family in the future. Every business needs accountants, which means there's always a demand for professionals in the accounting field. I find comfort in the sense of stability the job has to offer. I find the accounting field very comfortable because I know I will always be able to find a job there. I also find the accounting field attractive because it allows for remote work practices which I am very interested in pursuing. Ever since the COVID -19 pandemic the adoption of remote work has increased drastically. I am also interested in learning the various specializations such as auditing, tax, and financial analysis concepts that come along with the accounting degree. I am very eager to learn new skills that will provide me with the foundation I need to succeed in my chosen job field. Earning an accounting degree will significantly impact my life in several ways. The first way it will impact me is that a degree in accounting will provide me with the technical skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in my career. I will learn about financial reporting, auditing standards, tax laws, and other essential concepts dedicated to my chosen degree. Receiving this education from the University of Florida will open doors to a variety of job opportunities in different industries. I believe this degree will also provide a sense of accomplishment in my life especially because I am obtaining it from the University of Florida. Completing the challenging accounting program requires dedication and hard work. I am excited to overcome the challenges and achieve my goals. Finally, I believe that obtaining the degree will create opportunities for continuous learning and professional growth. The accounting field is constantly evolving. I am eager to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies. I believe that a career in accounting will provide me with a lifetime of intellectual stimulation and professional fulfillment.

Feminism can mean a variety of things to different people. The way I interpret feminism is that all women should embrace one another and support each other through the journey of navigating life. Feminism is about supporting all of the other women around you and respecting their choices, identities, and experiences. Feminism is important in this world because if people truly believe in feminism it can be a powerful tool used to end the oppression of women in the workplace. Feminism be seen as a movement to put an end to sexism. Feminism can lead women to rally for their right to equal pay. Feminism is a very strong and important word just like the women it represents. An inspirational woman to me is Brooke Sheilds. Brooke Sheilds started acting when she was just only 12 years old. In her first movie, she gained critical acclaim for playing a child prostitute. That movie was made in 1978 and it was called Pretty Baby. Shields says that she has no regrets about filming that movie and I admire her bravery for taking on such a serious role at such a young age. Brooke Sheilds was also sexually assaulted which she calls the lowest point in her career. Shields was invited up to a hotel room after dinner by a famous Hollywood executive, and he sexually assaulted her there. Brooke Sheilds she that she just froze and that she blamed herself afterward. Now that she has shared her story she hopes that many other assault victims can process that they are not alone. Brooke Sheilds has widely impacted my view on feminism because she has overcome so much pain in her lifetime and she still has the strength every day to wake up and be one of the most empowering women I know. Whenever I feel lost and start to forget how to love myself I think of Brooke Sheilds and how much she has taught me about being a strong woman. In tenth grade, I took my first computer science class. At first, I found it challenging to keep up. I took it upon myself to go home every day and sit at my computer for hours trying to learn new information. I also found it troubling that I was only one of four girls in my class. Every day I would go to class feeling as if I was being looked down upon by my male classmates because I was a woman in a STEM class. Luckily, my teacher pushed me to maintain my confidence in the subject, and thanks to her I was able to make a place for myself within the computer science program. The next year I signed up for another computer science class. I used all of the knowledge and confidence I gained from the previous course to pass the AP exam. Now I am confident in my abilities in computer science and I have received my python certification. I have inspired three of my female friends to take computer science classes with me at school and I feel that I take strides every day to make the computer science program at my school more female-friendly.

I want to attend college because obtaining a college degree is an achievement of a lifetime. Being able to own a college degree will help provide a better future for me. I plan to pursue a degree in computer science/engineering. Studying computer science in college is not always what I intended on pursuing, but I have come to have a special place in my heart for it. In tenth grade, I took my first computer science class. At first, I found it challenging to keep up. I took it upon myself to go home every day and sit at my computer for hours trying to learn new information. I often sought counsel from my computer science teacher, who is an exemplary female leader. She pushed me to maintain my confidence in the subject, and thanks to her I was able to make a place for myself within the computer science program. The next year I signed up for another computer science class. I used all of the knowledge and confidence I gained from the previous course to pass the AP exam. Now I am confident in my abilities in computer science and I seek to achieve received my python certification this year. In the future, I hope to be an ideal female leader and computer programmer. After graduating college I wish to find a successful career in the computer science industry. I wish to work for Google or Microsoft and to help develop the latest technology with them. I hope to be very successful in my career and I wish to travel to other countries to help progress their understanding of the internet and technology. This scholarship will help me achieve my educational goals because I have been accepted into my dream school Wake Forest University. Without applying for scholarships and grants I will not be able to attend. Receiving this scholarship will help me fulfill my goals and dreams of attending Wake Forest University and I will be forever grateful that the scholarship was given to me. This scholarship gets me one step closer to living out my dreams. Overall, I have been dedicated and motivated throughout my high school career to be successful. I have maintained an unweighted 4.0 GPA and plan to do the same in college.
