I used to be deceived somewhat about the issue. Many say that the fetus is not really alive in the sense that an intelligent creature is alive. But by listening to others, seeing the children, and studying the facts, I am now convinced that a fetus is a child. I have looked into what experts say and somewhat into the reality of what a fetus actually is. It is a human being. I used to hear too much rhetoric that was more pro-abortion, but the truth about abortion has been becoming clearer as I look more into the topic from an informed point of view. Children in the womb show expressions that clearly indicate very human emotions. They develop physiologically (which would extend to the mind) much more quickly than many of us had been led to believe. I have even found a story of an abortion doctor who has been evidenced to have been sick in the mind and potentially much more evil than one might have previously thought. There was a documentary I began looking into. In recent times, activists on both sides have shaped my opinion that pro-life is the obvious choice for a good person. Carefully and regularly reading the scriptures from the Bible have also helped my journey into my full transformation into a pro-life individual. I remember a former girlfriend I had. She had received an abortion prior to meeting me. As it turned out, she was very sick mentally and it seems to me like her choice to murder her child may have been associated with her abuse as a child. Even so, she did not appear to be proud of her choice to kill. And mental illness appears to be a common theme with the side that is pro-abortion. Not many people on that side of the argument who voice their opinions seem to conduct themselves in ways that illustrate mental stability. That may seem like a harsh judgment, but the Bible is filled with harsh realities that the general public may not be happy to hear. Overall, my various explorations into, and value for, the truth as it really is have led me to becoming very pro-life. The activities I take to value human dignity include attempting to treat all people with at least a fundamental respect. Additionally, I am now more considerate about the unborn in my thinking when considering who to vote for. I did not understand in the past as deeply as to why my grandmother refused to vote or people who considered promoting abortion. Once I get back onto my feet financially, I should consider giving to charities that are more likely to support my opposition to abortion. Although I have made mistakes (even recently) in my own ministering to others, I should prepare myself to shape my words and actions so that they only demonstrate righteous teachings. As an educator, I can find ways to show people why abortion is wrong. Moreover, it is my dedication to respect that is largely aligned with James' epistle and my desire and consideration to do more and to change that all constitute what I do to promote dignity for all.

My goals are to be able to one day be financially stable, to set up a school and a church in the Philippines where my wife and my house are, to have a room all to myself one day, and to have enough resources to help others. I plan to reach these goals by finishing my master's degree and looking for work hat will pay much better than the pay I earn currently. I also need to find transportation to the college in order to be able to teach there. I need more money to eventually fix my car. I need to save a few hundred dollars each month for my car; I need to keep paying my bills for my wife and my home; I need to save around $6000 for my wife to purchase some more land (I am unable to buy land in the Philippines until I have citizenship) and for me to buy the materials to build a church in the Philippines; I need about $200 to set up a small school in our yard in the Philippines, and I need to save around $400 a month to be able to set up opportunities to help others. I need about $2000 to begin and to finish building my own room at our house in the Philippines (when I had a little bit more money from better economic times, I did some building at our home), and I need about $400 a month for the kinds of foods I and my wife enjoy. I need about one more year to finish my master's degree. I want to put a desk and my degrees and a comfortable chair in my room when the basic foundations have been implemented. I want to buy a desk for my small school (a charity school that does not charge students). I also want to buy some chairs for the school and to at least build a kind of ceiling to protect from the Sun and the elements. For the church, I want my wife to buy the land. Then, I want to make a foundation and some walls out of concrete and/or cement. I want to put some housing wood poles and steel poles in the cement. The steel poles would be to keep the structure stable in the ground and the wood poles would be to build walls and connect a room, without the same risks of a dangerous concrete or cement collapse (were that to ever happen - a wood collapse could hurt people and a concrete collapse could end life). I have a lot of goals and I know tat I can achieve them.
    Book Lovers Scholarship
I would encourage everyone to read Eckhart Tolle's "The Power of Now." This book has been immensely influential in my life. I believe that prompting others to read the work may help to decrease their suffering and/or the suffering of those around them. I want to live in a world where our pains do not overcome our abilities to triumph, at least at times, with joy and/or peace. Helping individuals develop mental awareness can be a method employed to increase the moment-to-moment standard of living in those individuals. Eckhart Tolle's famous work can be used as a powerful tool to improve one's comprehension of consciousness. I observe so much unnecessary suffering around me. I hear angry yelling and witness unhappy faces. My goal in getting the larger populace to read my chosen piece of literature is to help change the social happenings of the world for the betterment of everyone involved (i.e., all human beings). I find that when I am not more fully present in a moment, I have less joy. When I immerse myself more completely in the now, I discover feelings and greater cognitive capabilities than I had access to before the switch. There is a deeper reality that cannot be confined to human language. It appears that with the help of the noted book's author, I can assist myself in becoming more fully engaged. Fully engaged in certain moments allows me to explore the depths of those caverns from my premortal existence. It seems that there are worlds beyond worlds within the soul. Literature, like Eckhart Tolle's famous writings, appears to work as something of a doorway into those realms above realms.
    Wellness Warriors Scholarship
Managing Personal Wellness Managing one's wellness is pivotal for student success in higher educational goals. One can promote wellness and health through physiological means, which also encompass psychological factors and variables. Health is too easy to ignore, but also crucial to betterment in various ways. Mental Health I take breaks. Sometimes, when I come home from work, I start writing my academic papers. I stop to take time to walk, or even sit, outside during the process of writing for my institution. The air, combined with the temporary calm, aids in stimulating my mind, allowing for improved mental health amidst my numerous responsibilities. Throughout my day, I regularly make efforts to be mindful. Mindfulness exercises are far from alien to me. Using my consciousness more efficiently improves my capacity to function. Mindfulness is a second way by which I manage my individual wellness. I engage in breathing exercises when my body and mind are overloaded with stress. The fatigue in question is often, but not necessarily always, emotional fatigue. As some who has studied meditation and pranayama in much more depth than the average denizen, I hold a concise and tactful methodological approach to calming down with specified forms of breathing. I believe that there is a direct connection between what one says and thinks, and with what one feels. Therefore, I make efforts to ensure that my words are chosen with care. Moreover, I also direct my mental foci to attention where my internal well-being will profit the most. Physical Health In the past, I have taken a considerable amount of time to walk and hike while attending college. I am seriously considering discovering methods of applying this approach to health again. My greatest concern has to do with my absence of time to explore my hobbies and interests as much as I would like. When I was younger, I would jog for an hour, or more, every single day. There was a time when I would do hundreds of push-ups each day. These days, I find it difficult to accomplish any exercise. In more recent months, healthier eating has become manifest as a greater focal point for my lifestyle. I eat many more vegetables than I have in the past. Eating larger quantities of fruits has also been a center of concentration for me. As I work with young people frequently, I have determined within myself that I should be more physically active during my time with our preschool students. I take more time to move around, sometimes very quickly. Not only do I contribute more to the workload at our school, but I additionally contribute to a stronger bodily capacity with my efforts. Of course, my students benefit as well. It is my opinion that leading by example is essential in education. How Managing Wellness Helps Providing a certain level of concentrated focus on my health aids in my ventures to succeed in my academic pursuits. For example, working on my mental health ensures that my institutional writings are more concise and well-written. When I work in a mental state that is riddled with exhaustion, I tend to produce papers and work that is below my clear abilities within my fields. In relation to managing what are generally categorized as physical health concerns, I also find greater success. By feeding myself in the correct ways, as well as by exercising the body, I gain access to a more sizeable source of energy. Energy is a fundamental and necessary resource when working long and rigorous hours for college life.
    Mind, Body, & Soul Scholarship
What excites me the most about college is the opportunity to learn new methodologies, theories, and considerations that I may apply to my current career path, along with my future goals. I work as a teacher, so learning anything that could potentially benefit my pupils, along with their families, excites me greatly. Moreover, using the knowledge which I have acquired to advance myself, too, is a massive benefit. If I do not move forward, I will be less likely to be able to help as many people. Progression allows me the chance to become a positive influence in the lives of more individuals and communities. I maintain a healthy mind by meditating. Meditation has been key to my ability to stay mentally healthy, despite working at school while also working at our preschool full-time. More, I shower my psyche with those items that aid in empowering thoughts, feelings, and internal metaphorical climates. Additionally, I refrain from gossip, which can easily, and quickly, hurt the mind's eye. I maintain a healthy body by keeping regular sleep patterns. Despite my many responsibilities, I make sure to get at least four hours of sleep every day. I started to also take naps. When my body begins to need rest, I allow my body to have access to further rest. Listening to calming sounds from various sources has been a massive help for concerns surrounding my body's need for rest. I ensure that I eat regularly, consuming vegetables and fruits when they are readily available. I participate in breathing exercises when my body is telling me that she has been working too much. I maintain a healthy soul by listening to scriptures on my way to, and/or from, work. I participate in school assignments between my long hours of work. I read and compose poetry regularly. Voices like Kahlil Gibran and William Blake feed my spirits. Listening and conversing with my fiancé, amidst other loved ones, also helps me to maintain a healthy soul. The hugs, high fives, words, and actions of my students aid in keeping a smile on the face of my spirit. I pray daily. Before the majority of my day begins, I thank my God for the day to come. Even more, I play with my pet rats. They are family, and their joy assists in the joy and peace I can bask in. Giving my money to those who need it more than I do is yet another way to heal my soul.

    Szilak Family Honorary Scholarship
My granddaddy had to pass through the veil much earlier than we had anticipated. He was, and still is, one of the most incredible human beings in the entire world. He got lung cancer. It attacked him so quickly that we barely had any time to do anything before he left his physical body. He had smoked throughout his life. I regret not trying to get him to wean off of cigarettes. I remember seeing him in the hospital. He did not appear to still be with us, even though he continued to breathe. The entire experience was terrible. My relationships with my family temporarily grew stronger, as we needed to do so. I still sometimes talk about him with close members of our family. My uncle led a major portion of the viewing, where he made mention of my mother. I was in tears. We all still love him. When I was away from my family, I remember hitting nearby objects (intended for the garbage) while no one was around to see me. I was raised not to cry, even though I desperately wanted to. My beliefs in the spirit world grew stronger. I recognized how, when looking for one of his tools, I would find it. Other close family members communicated to me how common this kind of occurrence was on the property that belongs to him and his wife, my beloved grandmother. For a while, I would talk out loud, hoping that he would hear me. I miss him so much. My career aspirations have been affected. One of the reasons that I hope to make significantly more income is to be privileged enough to give more to cancer research. I have given a very small quantity so far, and I want to do more. We have sent people to the Earth's largest satellite. We have sent probes to Venus. We have genetically engineered living organisms over and over again. We have created the simulated brain, which is the computer. One day, cancer could be a problem of the past. I hope that that day comes very soon. However, there is a lot of work that must first be done. My Grandfather is an incredible example of a wonderful human being. He kept his anger far away from his grandchildren as much as possible. He showed my Grandmother love for the many years they were married. He chose his words very carefully. He taught me how to change a tire. He taught me never to hit a woman. He helped to raise me. I even remember him giving me a haircut as a child. He was not cruel. He was not cowardly. He was kind, loving, and strong. I still have dreams about him. I know that he is still around, even though I miss the comfort of the presence of his physical body.

I am an early childhood teacher. I do my best to protect, help grow, and mentor my students. My students have been frequently telling me that they love me. I make an effort to ensure that my students are safe, able to learn big concepts, and prepared for the world. I want to continue to make an impact. Furthering my degree status, and credibility in general, helps assist in my venture to gain higher income, which benefits my students. For example, I buy birthday gifts for my students' birthdays. One of my pupils recently turned four years old. I spent between $30 and $40. He was very excited and happy. This kind of thing also works with behavioral management, as an incentive to choose the right. Regardless, I would do this without such a reward, because my goal is to make my students happy, so long as the circumstances for happiness do not interfere with future happiness. Increased income also helps my pupils in another major way. In order to make new items for learning activities, I inevitably need to go to the store. I don't know how many hundreds of dollars I've spent on my students so far, but I have used much of my earnings from teaching to help effectively teach. For a unit on extinct animals, I bought a semi-solid soft board. I attached Velcro-like connectors to the board, as well as some papers of extinct animals and extinct animal names. Students were challenged with attaching the correct animal to its name on the board. For that same unit, I bought numerous toys and craft supplies. I made a small model or sculpture of an environment with extinct animals. I was able to ask students which animals were included in the model. As my school's official art teacher, I have purchased a significant quantity of art supplies. On occasion, I even buy toys for the learning centers. With all of this under consideration, obtaining and finishing my master's degree would aid me by likely giving me a raise, which would help me to better serve my pupils. More than that, the Master of Education program has been eye-opening for me in consideration of how to better help my students. I want to make a positive impact by teaching my students as best as I can, in an environment that is emotionally and physically safe, imparting love, care, and wisdom when possible.
    Your Dream Music Scholarship
"Jerusalem" by Matisyahu holds a dear place in my heart. It is a song about our ancestry, and how the evils of the past need to be remembered, but that they should not hold us back from success. There are multiple versions of the song. Although the song has strong ties to Judaism and Jewish heritage, the music video for the song illustrates that Matisyahu is not only singing about the Jewish people alone. In the music video, one may witness the memories of Black denizens of the world as well. Thus, the song signifies ancestral love, memory, and respect for more than a single race or ethnicity, but for all people. The song relates to me. I have some Jewish ancestry. However, larger portions of my ancestors were associated with other racial groups. I know that at least one of my ancestors came to this country as an indentured servant. Much of my family has now, and in the past, struggled with poverty. The pains of the past find ways to manifest in the present, and yet many of us continue to move on and improve our place in the world.
