WinnerI live in a single income household with my mother. Although my dad is now in the picture, my mom has always financially been my provider since I was 5 years old. She is also taking college classes to further her education as well as having to pay for my classes. My senior year of high school I made the decision to take a step back from extracurricular activities to get a job to help take some of the financial weight off my mom’s shoulders. When I left high school athletics I gave up the opportunities to further my physical fitness, teamwork skills, and time management abilities that an athletic program fosters. I unfortunately had to miss out on the valuable social interactions with teammates, friendships and the sense of community that comes from being a part of a team. Although I could not benefit from athletic opportunities, getting a job opened so many new doors for my future. I started working at a local boutique in my hometown at the beginning of my senior year and as I began to learn the ins and outs of a small business I realized that I wanted to keep learning more about the business industry. While working in a small business I was able to decide what career path I wanted to pursue for my future. I have chosen to become a business major to gain knowledge on how to start a business and how to keep a business operating. I aspire to one day have my own business that I can continue to grow.
My life goal is to spread the gospel in every area of my life. As a dedicated Christian, I aspire to build a business that not only allows me to thrive financially but also fosters meaningful connections with my patrons. I envision a space where I can interact with consumers on a personal level, sharing Christ’s light with them and their families through service and kindness. This endeavor is about more than just profit; it’s about creating a community centered on love, support, and spiritual growth. Additionally, I am deeply passionate about investing in the next generation. I believe that education is a powerful tool for change, and I hope to contribute by funding schools and providing resources that foster creativity and innovation among students. By empowering young minds, I aim to help them realize their potential and equip them with the skills they need to succeed in a rapidly changing world. Receiving a scholarship is crucial for me, as it would alleviate some of the financial burdens that often accompany higher education. It would allow my family to focus less on the looming stress of student loans and more on my academic growth and spiritual journey. Ultimately, my goal is to blend my entrepreneurial spirit with my faith, creating an impact that resonates far beyond my immediate surroundings.
