Question 1: Attending graduate school and being a starting member of the Texas Southern women’s golf team was complex, but I remained committed to being the best student-athlete I could be and dedicated much of my time to maintaining a high GPA and attending each tournament during the season. Outside of golf and academics, I like to invest a large amount of my time into mentoring young golfers throughout my community. I currently volunteer with the Texas Golf Association, First Tee, and Journey through 18 organizations, teaching children of all ages the fundamentals of golf and helping guide them from beginners to advanced players. I also volunteer with Played with Heart; a non-profit organization focused on the empowerment of girls ages 4-12 through golf. This program emphasizes self-worth, resilience, and confidence in a sport that can often feel inaccessible or intimidating for young girls. Being a part of an organization like this has been extra meaningful to me because I understand firsthand how important encouragement and representation can be in a game like golf. Golf completely changed my direction in life and provided me with lifelong relationships, opportunities, and experiences I never imagined possible. Because of this, I feel a responsibility to be able to give back to the next generation of golfers. Watching these young players gain confidence and find their love with the game is one of the most rewarding parts of my life.
Question 2: I recently graduated in May 2026 with my Master’s degree in Kinesiology, earning a 3.9 GPA and Summa Cum Laude honors. Being team captain throughout my entire journey, allowed me to develop a stronger passion for advocacy, leadership, and helping others navigate through systems often feeling overwhelming or unequal. Beginning Fall 2026, I will be attending law school to pursue a career as an attorney. Although this represents a shift from my previous field of study, it is a decision deeply connected to my experiences as a student-athlete and a minority, playing competitive golf. Collegiate golf taught me how important it is to advocate for yourself, remain resilient through adversity, and create new opportunities even when the path may seem uncertain. My long-term goal is to work in sports law, where I eventually hope to support and advocate for athletes who may not always have the proper access to representation, guidance, or equal opportunity. Combining my background in athletics and a legal education, I would like to dedicate myself to a career where I can help athletes better understand their rights, navigate through their athletics, and feel empowered within their abilities.
Question 3: Giving back has become one of the most important parts of who I am. Throughout, collegiate golf, I have consistently dedicated my time to mentoring young golfers through organizations such as the First Tee, Journey through 18, Texas Golf Association, and Played with Heart. These experiences have allowed me to pass my knowledge of the game while also helping children build patience, integrity, and confidence. I especially enjoy working with young girls and minority athletes because I understand how difficult it can feel to enter a sport where you may not always see people who look like you. I want younger athletes to know they belong in a game just as much as anyone else and their goals are achievable regardless of starting point or background. Beyond college, I plan to continue mentoring athletes while also pursuing a career in sports law. I hope to use both my personal experience and legal education to become an advocate for accessibility, fairness, and opportunity within athletics. Whether through mentorship, community involvement, or legal advocacy, I plan to continue creating spaces where athletes feel supported, empowered, and heard to succeed both on and off the course.
Question 4: Receiving the Hulede Collegiate Golf Scholarship would have a meaningful impact on every aspect of my journey as I transition into law school while continuing to pursue my goals within golf outside of competitive golf. Academically, this support would help relieve a significant financial burden associated with graduate education given that I have finished my collegiate golf career. Allowing me to focus more on excelling in a rigorous academic environment and building the foundation for my future career in sports law. Personally, this scholarship would mean far more than financial assistance. It would serve as a form of validation for the years of hard work, setbacks, sacrifices, and perseverance that have shaped my journey. This scholarship would serve as a reminder that there are organizations and mentors who believe in the genuine support of student-athletes during and beyond their athletic careers. Having support from amazing and consistent mentors would motivate me to continue doing what I love with integrity and inspiration.
Question 5: One of the most difficult periods of my life came during my collegiate golf career when I faced injuries, uncertainty, and the challenge of transferring schools. Sometimes, it felt like everything I had worked towards was becoming unstable and falling. Balancing academics, recovery, competition, and the emotional pressure of starting over tested me mentally more than I had ever experienced before. There were moments I questioned whether continuing the journey was worth it, especially when progress felt slow and uncertain. However, instead of allowing those challenges to define me, I chose to adapt and keeping fighting. I focused on controlling what I could each day such as my work ethic, commitment, and my attitude. I leaned into my support system and stayed disciplined academically, continuing to show up even when things felt difficult. This experience taught me that resilience is not about avoiding adversity but learning how to grow through it. It showed that my identity is not limited to scores or outcomes, but rooted through determination, character, and perseverance. Looking back, those challenges shaped me into a stronger athlete, mentor, student, and future professional. Teaching me setbacks can become the very experiences preparing you to inspire and help others.

Question 1:
Balancing life as a starting collegiate golfer at Texas Southern University has been challenging; with demanding practice schedules, travel, and competition, time management has played a crucial part in my success. However, I have remained committed to my academics, maintaining a 4.0 GPA while continuing to volunteer with different organizations during my free time. Volunteering has taught me to be a better communicator, a more patient mentor, and an organized leader. I enjoy seeing young players gain confidence in themselves, and I take pride in knowing I played a small role in their development in the game. These experiences help me stay focused, connect with my community, and promote diversity, inclusion, and youth empowerment in golf and beyond.
Outside of playing golf, I actively volunteer with The First Tee, Texas Golf Association, and Girls Golf USA organization at Hermann Park Golf Course. These programs allow me to give back to the sport that has shaped so much of who I am. Through The First Tee and TGA, I coach young players, helping them improve their golf fundamentals while learning essential life skills such as honesty, confidence, and determination. With Girls Golf USA, I help organize events and tournaments and ensure a fun, inclusive environment where girls can build friendships and grow their love for the game at the same time. Volunteering with the youth has brought a sense of enjoyment throughout my collegiate career because it's shown me that there is so much more to the game than the number on the leaderboard. Golf is an outlet used for many, like myself, as an escape from reality to bring back happy thoughts and emotions and to defer from stressful factors in many lives, so being able to spread that same joy I feel when playing shows it's so much more than a game.
Question 2:
I am currently pursuing a graduate degree in Health and Human Performance since I have a strong passion for supporting student-athletes, especially those attending universities that may not have the same resources or opportunities as larger programs. Throughout my academic and athletic experiences, I have seen firsthand how access to proper support can significantly impact an athlete's performance and overall well-being, whether through coaching, mentorship, or health resources. My goal is to become an advocate for these students by working to create more equitable environments within collegiate athletics.
One of the ways I hope to make a difference is by becoming a golf coach. Coaching would allow me to work directly with student-athletes, helping them grow in their sport and their academic and personal development. Golf has been a meaningful part of my life, and it can be a powerful platform for teaching discipline, patience, and confidence throughout. By combining my academic background in health and kinesiology with my passion for sports, I plan to build programs that emphasize athletic performance and holistic development. Ultimately, I want to be a positive influence in the lives of young athletes and help them reach their full potential, regardless of the size or reputation of their school, but based on the athlete and their talents.
Question 3:
Giving back to my community is a commitment I take seriously. I plan to do so by entering my last year of collegiate golf and, after graduation, by continuing to coach youth sports. Coaching has given me a unique opportunity to inspire young athletes, teach valuable life skills, and foster personal growth beyond just the game. Sports can be a powerful tool for building character, discipline, and confidence, all qualities that extend far beyond the playing field. I want to be a positive role model who helps younger athletes develop their skills and encourages them to believe in themselves and their potential.
By staying involved in coaching, I want to create a lasting impact on the next generation, just as my mentors did for me. Whether through local teams, clinics, or community programs, I'm dedicated to making the game more accessible and enjoyable for all kids, regardless of background. Long-term, I also aim to advocate for better youth sports resources in underserved areas, helping ensure that every child has the chance to grow through sports. My goal is to help grow the game and uplift the community that has shaped who I am.
Question 4:
Being a recipient of the Hulede Collegiate Golf Scholarship would significantly impact my collegiate experience by alleviating the financial burden of graduate school and allowing me to continue pursuing my academic and athletic goals. As a graduate student, I've experienced the challenge many face: losing substantial financial aid and scholarships primarily designated for undergraduate students. This scholarship would help bridge that gap, enabling me to cover the remainder of my graduate school expenses. More importantly, the mentorship component of the Hulede College Golf Scholarship aligns with my desire to grow not just as a student-athlete but as a leader and professional. Having access to experienced mentors who understand the balance between athletics, academics, and career development would guide me at a pivotal moment in my life.
Overall, this scholarship would empower me to stay focused on my studies, continue competing in golf, and take full advantage of graduate school's opportunities without the constant stress of financial uncertainty.
