Bio

Aviation has been my path since I was six, and I’ve pursued it with hard work, leadership, and a commitment to serving others. I am a Commercial Aviation student at the University of North Dakota, working toward my Instrument and Commercial ratings while staying active in organizations such as LPA, SAMA, WAI, and Lions Club International, as well as serving as a UND Student Ambassador and Presidential Leadership Fellow. Along the way, I’ve earned my Private Pilot Certificate, completed 47 college credits in high school, and maintained a 4.0 GPA while gaining real-world experience through initiatives like the Fly Iowa Challenge and national leadership opportunities in aviation. My goal is to become a professional pilot who uses aviation to serve others, strengthen the aviation community, and create greater access and opportunity in the industry.

At six years old, I helped crew a hot air balloon at a local festival, and from that moment on, I was hooked. What drew me in wasn’t just the flying, but the responsibility, precision, and trust placed in the pilot. That experience showed me early on that aviation is not just about being in the air, it is about the people you carry, the decisions you make, and the discipline required to do it right every time. I earned my Private Pilot Certificate in high school on December 7, 2025, and I am currently pursuing a degree in Commercial Aviation at the University of North Dakota while working toward my instrument and commercial ratings. My goal is to become a professional pilot and use aviation not only as a career, but as a way to serve others. I am especially drawn to opportunities like Angel Flight, where aviation directly connects people to life-saving care and critical resources, inspired by my grandmother’s battle with a rare form of cancer. Access to the Mayo Clinic gave her a chance at life, extending it by five years and giving her a quality of life we would not have otherwise had. That experience showed me how powerful access can be, and how devastating it is when it is not available. It reinforced my desire to use aviation to help others reach the care they need. Passion and drive have kept me committed to this path. My upbringing has played a large role in shaping my work ethic. Service and doing things the right way were built into how I was raised. Whether rebuilding an engine with my grandfather or running my own business, I learned that cutting corners leads to bigger problems. That mindset carries directly into aviation, where preparation, consistency, and attention to detail are critical. I have funded my flight training through my own lawn care and snow removal business, as well as working alongside my grandfather repairing small engines. There were times while working on my PPL when I had to pause my training due to financial limitations, but those moments never changed my goal, they reinforced it. I learned early that if something matters, you find a way to keep moving forward. I am also committed to being involved in my community. I founded and served as president of my high school’s Leo Club (student branch of Lions International), where I led service projects focused on helping others and strengthening our community. Today, I continue that involvement through aviation organizations and volunteer efforts such as working with the North Dakota School for the Blind and introducing younger students to aviation through the EAA and AESOP. I believe success in aviation is not just about personal achievement, but about helping others see what is possible and supporting them along the way. One of the biggest challenges I have overcome is dyslexia. I had to work harder and more intentionally from an early age, which taught me persistence, discipline, and adaptability. Those lessons now shape how I approach flight training and academics. I rely on preparation and consistent effort, knowing those habits are what lead to success. Because of that, I do not take the opportunity to fly for granted. Aviation requires both skill and character, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is not only to succeed as a pilot, but to build a career defined by professionalism, work ethic, integrity, and service to others.
