During my time at Texas A&M University- Kingsville, specifically my junior and senior year, I was active in several organizations and clubs around campus. One of the roles that I found to be most impactful was my position as President of TAMUK’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). I led monthly meetings in this role, which focused on increasing student-athletes' involvement in the Kingsville community through community service. In addition to this, I also led meetings relating to NCAA votings on rules and legislation policies which provided me with valuable insights into college athletics.
In addition to SAAC president, I was also part of the Javelina Marketing Association in which we took part in professional development workshops that emphasized resume building, interview skills, and networking techniques. On top of that, I also served as the Historian for the TAMUK Golf Association, where we met up every two weeks for fun mini tournaments and to encourage golf on campus.
With all of these roles at hand, I was kept pretty busy while also being a full-time student and a member of the women's golf team on campus. However, each of these roles enriched my college experience by providing me with countless opportunities and contributed to my development as both a teammate and leader.

As I mentioned prior, I recently graduated with my Bachelor's of Business Administration in Marketing at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, graduating with magna cum laude honors and a 3.75 cumulative. This fall, I will be pursuing my MBA and am currently considering either pursuing it online while working full-time or returning to campus to serve as a graduate assistant for the women’s golf team while also doing it online.
I decided on marketing as my field of study because I found it enjoyable and exciting to learn about methods of engaging with others and publicizing specific ideas, events, or brands in the sports industry. The marketing industry is expanding at the moment, especially within college and professional sports. As digital platforms and social media have formed, athletes, teams, and brands are discovering innovative techniques to connect with their fans and expand their audiences as a whole; which I personally find very interesting to keep pursuing in my future.
I look forward to expanding my skills and experience in this area, which combines both my passion for sports and marketing background to pursue my dream career path.

I am currently doing a full-time internship at Dell Technologies located in Round Rock, Texas, where I work from 8 to 5 every weekday. Even though my weekdays are quite packed, I still prioritize giving back to my community on the weekends. When possible, I plan to volunteer at community food banks, animal shelters, and women’s shelters.
My college experience as SAAC President significantly shaped my perspective on community involvement. Even in the midst of a hectic working life, I am still committed to maintain engaged within community. I think that even minor efforts can lead to significant change, and I’m dedicated to maintaining that perspective throughout college and beyond.

Receiving the Hulede Collegiate Golf Scholarship would represent so much more to me than financial assistance; it would reflect the hard work, dedication, and perseverance I’ve maintained throughout my journey as a student-athlete. The scholarship would help alleviate the financial burden of pursuing my MBA, especially as a first-generation college student with a sibling in college, and it would also acknowledge the hard work I've put into my studies and on the golf course.
Receiving this scholarship would enable me to concentrate more on my studies and on serving as a graduate assistant for the women’s golf team this upcoming school year. Additionally, it would grant me access to a mentorship network that could push me as I move forward in my academic and professional career. It would an immense help to have backing from a group that recognizes the importance of collegiate golf and the experience of student-athletes. It would serve as a reminder that my dedication, sacrifices, and the long hours I put in were worthwhile. It would also inspire me to keep advancing in my career and to persist in my efforts to support my community.

1. In addition to playing for the women's golf team, I also serve on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) at my university. In my spare time, as vice president of this committee, I like to volunteer in the Kingsville community and hang out with my fellow student athletes. In addition to SAAC, I am also a member of the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Golf Association (historian) and the Javelina Marketing Association. My week is filled with a lot of activities in addition to my daily practice schedule, but because it's beneficial to my mental health, I also like to make time for family , the gym, and social hangouts with my friends.
2. I am currently in my third year of my undergraduate degree in Marketing. I was drawn to the field of marketing because it offers an entry into a diverse range of career options within a rapidly growing industry. I want to continue my education by pursuing a master's degree in either international business or sports/social media marketing after receiving my bachelor's degree. Being a native Spanish speaker, I would love to work for a multinational corporation or in the sports industry to further demonstrate my capabilities. During my college career, one of the biggest opportunities I had was participating in the PGA works Collegiate Championship where I connected with a lot of companies that are looking for minority students like myself to help them with their job search. Because of this, I've been able to connect with companies that will help me reach my goals after college.
3. As I previously stated, SAAC has given me a lot of opportunities in order to assist people in my community. In the Kingsville area, poverty is the norm for most families. As an athletic department, we a have a minimum of 10 hours of community service in which I have helped at a local animal shelter to walk and care for the dogs in need of homes. Additionally, SAAC requires that there be a minimum of two significant community events held each semester, during which we gather holiday gifts, food, and clothing for low-income households. Since many people in our town struggle to make ends meet, we came together and formed connections to help those in need. We provided assistance to about 400 families last semester with the support of local churches and food banks.
4. It is impossible for me to exaggerate the importance of this financial aid, so I wanted to express how much this scholarship would mean to my family and I. Receiving this scholarship would free my parents from having to worry about paying for mine and my brother's tuition starting next fall. It would give me the tools and the encouragement that I need in order to devote myself entirely to my studies, golf game, and my overall goals for my senior year. I would be able to concentrate on my academic goals and realize my full potential without having to worry about any financial restrictions. In addition to its monetary value, this scholarship has a significant symbolic meaning for me. It represents the power I hold as not only a first-time college student, but the endless dedication I have put into my studies and my game since my family and I moved to the states for a better life.
