Bio

Hi! I'm Ale. On the outside, I am shy introvert going about his life. On the inside, my mind is constantly racing to make myself and the things around me better. To me, this means showing people life is worth living to the fullest extent. That dreams are worth chasing. Intellectually, I am a mathematician at my core. But throughout my life, I had a fair number of encounters with the healthcare system, and got to see where it succeeds and where it fails. The primary failure of our healthcare system is that it, by necessity and not malice, needs to do cost-benefit analysis with patients' lives. This works amazingly at a population level, but not so well on an individual level. That is exactly why I have chosen to pursue biomedical engineering. I aim to use my skill in applied mathematics to make sure no patient ever feels left behind. To make sure we acknowledge the individuality of health outcomes. And also, to enlighten peoples' lives with awesome technology and creative acts of kindness. I got involved with science from an early age. Eventually, after winning a national olympiad, I was granted the opportunity to take part in the International Junior Science Olympiad (South Korea - 2015) in which I attained a bronze medal. That set me on a path of self-learning and exploration, as well as a variety of projects in DIY, coding, computer science and mathematics. My core academic value is autodidacticism. I am passionate about developing crazy projects. All I want is to give some of that passion back. So people may live with it.
