WinnerOsborne High School has truly shaped me into the person I am today. That journey started with football. Being on the team was the first time I really felt like I belonged somewhere. As an only child, I didn’t grow up with siblings, so I never knew what brotherhood felt like until I stepped on that field. My teammates became my brothers. They taught me how to be tough, how to stand up for myself when things got hard, and how to keep pushing forward even when life didn’t go my way.
More than that, I found strong role models in Coach Ironside, Coach Salam, and Coach T. They showed me what it means to be a real man someone who earns respect by staying true to his values, not by demanding it. They didn’t let me off easy; they held me accountable and pushed me to be better every single day. Thanks to them, I started to see myself and my future—differently.
But it wasn’t just football. In the classroom, I met teachers who genuinely cared about me. For the first time, I felt like people believed in me and wanted me to succeed. I’ll never forget when Mr. Williams bought me ACT prep courses out of his own pocket. That small act made a big impact. It reminded me that I’m not in this alone that there are people rooting for me and investing in my future.
Osborne gave me more than an education. It gave me confidence, direction, and a sense of belonging. It taught me how to lead, how to work hard, and how to keep going when things get tough. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I know I wouldn’t be who I am without the people and experiences I had at Osborne.
