Hello, my name is Aleena Guerra. I have always seen myself as the type of person to strive in college, leaving my home state to explore and change the world for the better. The example my sister has set for me as she has accomplished all of her goals in college, has made me want to achieve the best for me and my family. Growing up not having as much as my peers, not knowing English when I first started school, and seeing my parents work hard for everything that we have today has truly been inspiring. I want to be able to set an example for all the Hispanic community and prove to the world that no matter what language you speak, what you look like, what standards you have because of your gender, EVERYTHING is possible and you can do anything you set your mind to. I want to be able to show them that they’re also capable of everything as well as also helping them succeed. In college I want to major in Business administration/management and minoring in Marketing. I want to acquire both of these to be able to help my dad out with his business of construction and helping him manage it. Growing up I have always shown interest in what my dad does. Over the years he has gone through a trial and error process with his company and it’s been truly inspiring. Seeing how he is able to overcome the mountains has made me want to follow in his footsteps. I want to impact the world positively by giving more chances to the people that won’t receive them anywhere else. I want to provide them with a safe and secure environment where they’re able to be themselves at work and be able to watch them grow and succeed. Seeing other people succeed in something they like to do is my goal in life. As my family has learned from first hand experience how hard it can be to have to live paycheck to paycheck, I know that there are a lot of families out there that need the financial support of having a good job and being able to provide for their family. I want to be able to help them achieve their goals, provide for their family and work their way up in the company as well as teach them everything I know and learned from my dad.
