Future Dentists Scholarship
I could say that Dr. Davidson was my main inspiration for wanting to pursue a career in the dental field. He lives a lavish life, I have interned with him over the past two summers, and his persuasive and charming personality seems to captivate anyone who steps into his practice. He goes on vacations nearly every month and loves what he does, lives in a giant house and has the ideal American Dream lifestyle. In pure honesty, that is what drew me in, but what keeps me so interested is what goes on inside his practice.
Alike to law and pro-bono cases, Dr. Davidson takes in many people who cannot afford to pay for their dental services and treats them for extremely low and affordable costs. I have seen people whose lives are devastated walk out in tears as they no longer have pain when they eat. Tears of joy as their smile, shine bright with new colors of life as they no longer have to hide their biggest insecurity. Dr. Davidson this past year sat me down after a homeless man walked out after a brand new procedure exclaiming that the Lord had blessed him to great extents. He told me that he hopes I work with him for that reason. He emphasized the joy he gets in helping people, and that being able to make a difference to people that have little to cheer about in their lives is something that makes his job feel so important.
Going into the dental field is a lot of schooling, money, hard work, and dedication but to me, it is so beyond worth it. I look at where I plan to apply, and pray that my hard work has all been worth it. Working my tail off to be the best of the best and finish at the top of my class. I look out as I hope to enroll in a prestigious undergraduate school where I can pursue pre-dentistry to the fullest. But with all these highly prestigious American universities comes one thing- unreasonably high costs of attendance. To fulfill my dream of enrolling in a school that'll put me one step closer to my future career, I have to find ways to gain the financial resources to not be drowning in 6 figures of debt coming out of undergraduate school. This scholarship would be a blessing to me as it would help me in every way to achieve my dream.
