My name is Aleah Storkamp and I have been heavily affected by diabetes. My dad and his mother were diabetic. Growing up I lived with my mom, dad, and grandma. My dad and grandma were on dialysis due to end stage renal failure from being diabetic. I spent a lot of time going to doctor’s appointments with both my dad and grandma. My mom cared for dad and grandma while having to work multiple jobs to help make ends meet because my dad could no longer work.
