Bio

I am currently a junior at Lawrence Technological University and on track to graduate a semester early. My cumulative GPA is currently 3.8. I am currently an active student member of ASCE, AEI, Tau Beta Pi, and Chi Epsilon. I dream of pursuing a job in the field of engineering. I love structural and functional details in regard to both exteriors and interiors of all kinds of buildings. I want to utilize the elements of STEM to help many different communities across the United States. Aside from my studies, I am very active and involved. I have been playing softball for over 10 years as a starting second baseman/utility OF and team captain. In terms of involvement, I serve my community by volunteering in events sponsored by my church and school. I am a Youth/Worship Leader at my church, pushing myself to lead by example and help others constantly. My parents have always taught me to strive every day to be positive, confident, and respectful. These characteristics have helped me succeed and grow as an individual. I am confident that my drive to help my peers and those in need will propel me toward an impactful future. Thank you bold.org for allowing many students like myself to become more organized and aware of the opportunities out there!

My longing to excel has contributed to my determination to achieve high academics. Prioritizing my success and education throughout high school has allowed me to succeed immensely. I feel as though my overall biggest strength is my ability to push my limits and capitalize on personal growth. This drive takes me further than my education and allows me to succeed in life situations as well. I feel as though this drive towards my school work and extracurriculars has equipped me with the skillset I need in order to succeed in college. I am eager to find an engineering program that can provide me with the tools in which I need to have a successful future. I have always been interested in subjects such as math and science, these have shaped my interest in fields such as engineering and architecture. Ever since I can remember, I have wanted to pursue engineering. I am ambitious in the thought that my inventive and driven nature will lead to success in an engineering setting. Choosing architectural engineering was not a decision made at random, there are many aspects of this field that have motivated my choice. I have always known that I wanted to pursue a career in architecture and engineering as I enjoy subjects such as mathematics and design. My success in math and science courses throughout my schooling has helped to pave the way for my future in engineering. I strive to set an example for others: academically and emotionally. I have cultivated the mindset that college is abundant in opportunities to make friends and become involved, but it is also more. It is a learning environment where I will come to expand my understanding of the world around me. I am ambitious in the thought that my inventive and driven nature will lead to success in an engineering setting. I sincerely believe that my longing to excel as well as my ability to prioritize my education has equipped me with the skills I need in order to be successful in college. In order to avoid college debt, I plan on applying for as many scholarship opportunities as I can. I also am willing to do work for my friends and neighbors in hopes that they may help me finance my educational dreams. I am blessed to be supported by my family and my community and the opportunities my community provides me. I am very lucky to have access to these types of scholarships as they allow me to express my dreams and aspirations for my future. It is no secret that occupational fields affiliated with the characteristics of STEM have increased massively over time as technological creativity has continued to be maximized. I have always gravitated towards the subjects involving math and science as their elements challenged me, but filled me with great knowledge. I have always succeeded very well in all math and science classes as well as submerged myself in materials outside of my studies that have to do with the STEM field (prominently engineering). Alongside the elements of math and science, I have always been inspired by the architectural brilliance in my area of the United States. There is a numerous amount of architectural presence in places such as Detroit and Chicago which I have been fortunate enough to visit myself. I also have an interest in the architecture of my local area as I am fortunate to live alongside one of the Great Lakes. Waterside architecture has a new-founded technological and functional presence in the modern world as people affiliated with the STEM field develop new forms of water management and usage. I feel as though my creativity and hunger to learn--as well as a future degree--can bring a functional element to advancements in waterside, and other forms of architecture. I have developed a new kind of love for architecture that is not only beautiful but serves a purpose. I want to strengthen and further develop a skill set that can contribute to a successful future in STEM-related architecture. These may include recreational buildings such as park structures, stadiums, and libraries. They may also include commercial buildings such as office structures and government buildings. Architecture and architectural engineering is a passion I have had for a very long time and my attention to detail and interest in STEM will allow me to strengthen my passion as well as my impact on society. I aspire to find ways to build my creativity within the subjects of STEM throughout the next steps of my academic career. I am determined to put forth my interest in STEM and my creative mind to fabricate and develop new forms of architecture that may contribute to human progress. This includes new types and current types of buildings that will not only be unique but serve a purpose. I want my impact to be BOLD, to stand out from contemporary architecture. I want my education in the STEM field to help those communities in need. I truly wish to make the world a beautiful and functional place for all aspects of life. Everyone deserves to make an impact and I feel as though I have great promise in achieving my dreams through STEM.

Following the Midland, MI flood crisis, I traveled upstate with my local church to help families in need. It was an amazing experience, something I had never done before. I lead basement gutting, spraying crawlspaces, and praying with those affected. It was a truly incredible feeling to be able to serve others in the name of the Lord. I had the ability to do things I had never tried before such as venture through a crawlspace (pictures attached)! This experience was like no other and I will never forget the impact I was able to make on that day.
