Bio

I have always had a deep love for nursing, which I attribute to my desire to significantly improve people's lives. Growing up, I had to overcome a lot of academic obstacles that at first seemed to crush my dreams. Nevertheless, I worked hard to turn my shortcomings into strengths and built a resilience that drove my academic progress rather than allowing these setbacks to define me. My commitment to becoming a nurse strengthened as I advanced in my education. At West Coast University, where I am currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in nursing, my passion for the subject has only grown. My dream is to become an Operating Room (OR) nurse specialist so that I can use my passion and abilities to give patients the best care possible at their most vulnerable times. After going through this journey, I've realized that my hardships have only made me more dedicated to nursing, and I can't wait to use my knowledge and empathy to advance the profession

Volunteering has been an integral part of my life, not just as a means of giving back to the community, but as a profound catalyst for personal growth and transformation. My journey as a volunteer in a hospital's Emergency Room (ER), Respiratory Department, and Telemetry Unit has allowed me to witness the resilience of the human spirit and embrace the value of compassion. Moreover, the financial assistance provided by this scholarship would not only alleviate the burden of educational expenses but also empower me to continue contributing to society in more meaningful ways. How Volunteering Changed My MindsetEntering the bustling environment of the ER, I encountered the raw realities of life: suffering, fear, and vulnerability. My time spent here not only strengthened my ability to remain composed under pressure but also instilled in me a sense of humility and empathy. Witnessing the selfless dedication of doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals further ignited my passion for pursuing a career in medicine. My experience in the Telemetry Unit and Respiratory Department exposed me to the intricate nature of patient care and the significance of monitoring vital signs. Working alongside compassionate caregivers, I learned that a simple gesture of holding a patient's hand during difficult times could make an immeasurable difference. These encounters reinforced my belief in the profound impact of human connection and kindness. As an aspiring medical professional, numerous financial barriers have stood in my way while I've worked toward achievement. Pursuing a degree in medicine requires substantial investment, including tuition fees, textbooks, and essential tools like medical equipment and supplies. Furthermore, the hours dedicated to volunteering have limited my ability to engage in paid work, exacerbating my financial strain. My family's financial situation has also been a challenge. They have always supported my dreams, but with my other sibling to take care of, there are limitations to how much they can contribute. This scholarship would not only alleviate the financial burden but also provide the peace of mind necessary to focus on my studies and excel academically. The scholarship's financial aid would not only support my educational journey but also strengthen my commitment to volunteerism. Armed with medical knowledge, I envision myself returning to the hospital as a healthcare professional, capable of making a more profound impact on the lives of patients. This scholarship would provide me with the opportunity to invest more time and energy into my studies, enabling me to graduate with distinction and contribute more significantly to the medical community. Additionally, with a reduced financial burden, I would have the flexibility to volunteer in diverse communities, further broadening my understanding of the challenges faced by underserved populations. I hope to actively participate in medical missions, reaching out to those in remote areas and providing vital healthcare services to those who lack access to basic medical facilities. Volunteering at the hospital has been a transformative experience that has reshaped my mindset and reaffirmed my dedication to medicine and compassionate care. As I reflect on the impact of my experiences in the ER, Respiratory Department, and Telemetry Unit, I am more determined than ever to pursue a career that allows me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. The financial support provided by this scholarship would not only alleviate the economic strain but also empower me to focus on my education and future contributions to society. With this scholarship, I am confident that I can continue on my path as a future medical professional, one who is committed to volunteering and dedicated to enhancing the well-being of others.

The transformation of seemingly antagonistic characters like Severus Snape and Draco Malfoy reminded me of the power of redemption and the potential for good in every person. As a result, I cultivated a deep sense of empathy, leading me to pursue a career in psychology, to provide support and understanding to individuals facing mental and emotional challenges. On the other hand, John Green's works, characterized by raw emotions and philosophical reflections, have deeply impacted my outlook on life and the significance of human connections. In his novel "The Fault in Our Stars," the protagonists, Hazel and Augustus, taught me that life's beauty lies not in its duration but in the moments we share and the impact we make on others. Their courage in the face of illness illuminated the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every fleeting moment. Green's exploration of existential themes in "Looking for Alaska" and "Paper Towns" challenged me to question the world around me and embrace the unknown. These books ignited my passion for intellectual curiosity and a thirst for knowledge. The pursuit of deeper understanding and a desire to make a difference in the world led me to set my sights on a career in research and academia, where I hope to contribute to humanity's quest for knowledge. In conclusion, the books of J.K. Rowling and John Green have been guiding lights in my life, illuminating my path with invaluable life lessons and shaping my goals. The "Harry Potter" series instilled in me the values of courage, empathy, and friendship, leading me toward a career in psychology. On the other hand, John Green's profound explorations of life's meaning and human connections inspired me to pursue a career in research and academia with a focus on mental health awareness. The magic of literature continues to transform my aspirations, and I am eager to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, armed with the wisdom and inspiration gleaned from these remarkable authors. As I embark on my journey, I am grateful for the profound impact of these books and excited to use the lessons learned to make a positive impact on the world around me.

It only took 14 years to understand the way life works and it created a different turn out for myself. I used to struggle a lot through school growing up with no expectations to live up to. I had such a low mindset that I did not feel the need to learn the subjects or physically be in school. But there was always one subject that brought so much joy and it was science. I knew anything that included science was for me and the future, especially anything within the healthcare field. I always pictured myself as a nurse when I was younger. Nursing is among the most challenging and specialized occupations, which requires a high level of expertise and devotion from people who choose to become nurses. Nursing has always been something that has captivated me. My decision to major in nursing was influenced by a variety of factors, but the potential to provide care for someone other than myself is one of my top motivations. The social, psychological, emotional, physical, and intellectual expectations for nurses include many different areas. Developing the technological abilities required to provide their patients with the best care possible presents another barrier for nurses. In my position, I find it interesting to be this present for a patient. I want to be able to offer services for the patient's condition or purpose for visiting as one of the initial members of a valuable healthcare team. To achieve the common objective of supporting the health and well-being of their patients, nurses, as a component of the healthcare system, should be able to work collaboratively with all other healthcare professionals. I want to communicate with the patients to improve their stay in any manner I can because doing so enhances not just the quality of their medical care but also their complete experience beyond just obtaining it. My initial interest and motivation in becoming a nurse began at the age of 16 when I volunteered at Jackson North Hospital. I was able to volunteer on three floors; Telemetry, Respiratory, and the ER. It was such a fun learning experience that provided such a different perspective on how life works in the Healthcare system. Furthermore, the experience was considerably more pleasant when committed nurses and other staff members nurture such an environment. As a nurse, I will be able to offer patients as much help as I can, from relieving their concerns to simply having a friendly discussion to make their stay more bearable. This divergence is, in my opinion, beyond the scope of medical care. I have spent my entire life looking for the kind of professional challenge that health care provides. I have always wanted to help those who are ill. Despite how difficult the nursing profession is, I can work under pressure. I came to understand that what genuinely makes helping others feel good about themselves is the personal influence they have. I am aware that working in this field will enable me to strengthen my leadership abilities and give my future patients the best care possible. I am eager to learn more due to my desire to work as a full-time trauma nurse.

I am aware that working in this field will enable me to strengthen my leadership abilities and give my future patients the best care possible. I am eager to learn more due to my desire to work as a full-time trauma nurse.

Growing up I was always closer to my grandparents so naturally, I obtained such a close bond with them. I would go to their monthly doctor visits, help them take their blood pressure, and help them with their medicine bottles every week. Creating a strong bond with my grandparents made me realize how much I do not want them to leave me ever in this world. I want to grow up and help give them a better life for as long as they have. My initial interest and motivation in becoming a nurse began at the age of 14, when, unfortunately, my grandfather was getting sicker. I took upon his sickness, and it created this sort of depression because I cherish my grandparents very much, so knowing one of them was falling sick almost created this sort of spiritual switch in which I took in his pain. I knew from that moment on I wanted to make him proud; I wanted my grandfather to see his granddaughter pursue a career in a field where I can help not only him but many more in need. Furthermore, the experience is considerably more pleasant when committed nurses and other staff members nurture such an environment. If I had the opportunity to create something for a positive world would be a button that creates world peace that everyone in this world would have. At any given moment there is always someone out there who needs such faith and guidance to help in any way possible. I believe we need to start with world peace and learn how to use this button whenever we are in desperate need.

I grew up with only just me and father survived throughout our lives. I use to struggle a lot through school growing up with no expectations to live up to. But there was always one subject that brought so much joy and it was science. I knew anything that included science was for me and the future, especially anything within the healthcare field. I always pictured myself as a nurse when I was younger.
