The most important quality of leadership is modeling the way. Many leaders take advantage of their higher position and the people below them. This creates a hard-to-remove stain on how many perceive leadership in their future. I would like to change the way leadership is understood, because the world is in desperate need for more. Another leadership goal of mine is to create a greener world for the future generations. Within my actions, everything has a purpose. Leadership needs to be confidently expressed to give peers encouragement and hope in their skills to furthur their futures. In my community, I uphold a position called “Peer Advisor.” My job is to ensure that new students feel welcome and acclimated to their new home, along with running group meetings to supply important information to the student body. I wish to instill confidence within these students to become better people, including using recycling methods to reduce the amount of trash and waste that generate in the dorms. My goal is so because when I was in their position, I did not have a good leader to look up to. The leader that I had only prioritized themselves, which is no way for change to be made. They also did not encourage group efforts, which is borderline the opposite of what a leader should be. This is why it is extremely important for leaders to do their job properly. Leaders need to teach and model the way to allow the generations after them to know how to properly run in a leadership position. Within society, I believe that humans are evolving to be too cruel. With that being said, a large goal of mine is to gradually move the communities around me to be more green and eco-friendly. The color green is known to increase brain activity and focus. This would be life-changing for not only individuals, but also economies across the world as it shifts to a more green environment. Individuals do not realize just how much influence they can have if they just join a like-minded communities. The bigger the voice, the bigger the change. I am extremely passionate about this subject, because the world desperately needs more leaders to help reduce climate change. Climate change is not just an individual issue, it is a worldly one. Leadership will always be something that the world needs. It is one of the most useful skills an individual can have and utilize for their own betterment. It can also be used to create helpful and innovative ways to help the environment. Together the population can band together to improve the relationship between humans and the earth, as climate change is rapidly accelerating as the human population beings to peak.

Math has always been a subject of interest for me, I just loved how it could be applied to a variety of topics. For example, physics. Physics is science and math melded together to create an entirely new learning subject. Another example could be shown within visual art. Many artists use geometry and trigonometry within their art to make their pieces more compelling. However, math and I have not always been friends, with many late-night cram sessions and the plethora of “can we meet during your office hours” emails. I believe math to be the unseen foundation of the universe and more. To me, there is a comfort in having strict rules and structures to follow, because there will always be one answer. Unlike other subjects, like English, where the answer lies within the eyes of the interpreter. But, along with the comfort of strict answers, there is also a comfort that there will always be something more to learn. Math is such a vast and expansive study and, with no doubt, will continue to evolve past the end of humankind. However, I believe that “math" is a general term, it is too broad. When someone asks me “do you like math,” I am urged to say no. There are simply too many types of math, I cannot possibly enjoy all of them. On the contrary, if someone would ask “do you like pre-calculus,” I would instead say that I enjoyed pre-calculus a lot. It has been one of the most enjoyable math classes I have taken. This is why it is important to be specific about the type of math being applied, with the main 4 types being: arithmetic, number theory, geometry, and algebra. The most astounding part about math is the fact that so many students despise it with their entire being. This is saddening because they do not realize the potential of the subject matter they are learning. The use of math in everyday life can provide mental discipline and cultivate problem-solving skills, which can lead to more innovation in the future. Math is physically built into everything, from the ceiling to the floor. Consider this, everything within a TV has been made with math, down to the measurements of parts, computing the software, and assembling. More things that mathematically affect someone's everyday life are cooking, building new infrastructures, traveling, gas mileage, and many more. Math is the future, and future generations need to learn how to use it to their advantage.

Higher education means fostering an inclusive and safe educational environment for the greater good of humankind. Receiving this scholarship would allow me to focus on my purpose, rather than scrambling to afford my education. Not only does it distract me from coursework, but it is also disheartening, as I believe that education should not be something that needs to be pried from the hands of educational institutions. Education is so important to becoming a more fully-fleshed out person because it allows one to complete and move on to higher achievements, leaving behind old goals for beautiful new ones. I believe that everyone needs a life-long goal that encourages them because it nurtures the creation of ideas and fosters future innovations. The goal that I have chosen to pursue is to foster a good learning environment for future generations. Creating a better future for everyone is what we should all be working towards. I chose to study Biomedical Sciences in my college career because of my love for helping others. I wish for everyone to have a chance for a healthy and long-lived life and this is how I can assist the dreams of others. This fuels my passion for forensic science as well, as the world always deserves less pain and suffering. Forensic science is the study of the body(or anything relating) to assist in civil or criminal cases. I believe that if I continue down this path, I will be very pleased with where I end up. I have always been a science nerd, with chemistry being my favorite. Science originally piqued my interest Specifically, the arrangement of molecules. It is bizarre how the replacement or rearrangement of just one atom can change the characteristics of the entire molecule. These skills and interests are something I want to integrate into my studies and profession. This is why higher education is so important to me, I love to fuel my love for learning as I grow. Learning is something so crucial to our success as a nation because we do not want to go backward. If we do not try to remember the past, we are doomed to repeat it. This is why we should use our love for knowledge and growth to further increase the standard of living for our future. We are all living and growing in the same world together, so we should help each other out and spread kindness.
