Bio

I'm an 18-year-old, full-time student and aspiring musician/filmmaker. Arguably the most prevalent mediums of communication today, film and music have been a huge part of my life. I strongly believe that film and music shape the way we view acquaintances, society, family, our own selves, and even the world itself. Since my youth, I've been impressed to make the best impact on those I come in contact with. It has been my dream to meaningfully communicate with others in different forms since adolescence. Despite growing up in an underprivileged, single-parent household, this is still a goal I grasp for to this day. As a humble student of the arts, I believe through persistence and sagacious determination, this will become reality. Through these channels (film and music), it is my goal to tell impactful, meaningful stories that will prompt all who consume them to do the same.

When making a song, there are a few things that go into my creative process. One of the biggest components, however, are films that I watch prior to song composition. Movie soundtracks are a huge source of inspiration for me, and they usually rub off on the (orchestral) songs I make. This is how I developed the song submitted. I recently watched a film scored by one of my favorite composers named Tom Holkenborg (who often goes by the moniker "Junkie XL"). It was the largest source of inspiration. It very much shows in the tune's musical elements. Maybe a day after watching the film and listening to its phenomenal score dozens of times, I took to writing the piece!
