As a junior college student who is fully paying for my education out of my own pocket, I am highly committed to my studies and to achieving my ultimate goal of a doctorate level in Psychology. This degree will enable me to help individuals in black and other minority communities with their mental health. I am fully aware of the challenges I will face on this journey, but I am determined to succeed and make a difference in the world. Despite having to work long hours to pay for my classes, I have previously achieved high grades and have a strong academic foundation. This has allowed me to progress through my studies and gain valuable knowledge that I can apply to my future career in psychology. My passion for mental health comes from my own experiences with it. I have seen firsthand the devastating impact that mental issues and trauma can have on individuals and families. It is my hope that by pursuing a career in psychology, I can help others overcome the same challenges that I and my family have faced. I am committed to finding healthier ways for individuals struggling with mental health issues that do not require medications and isolation. In addition to traditional therapy methods, I am interested in exploring alternative methods such as herbal medicines, poetry, and art therapy. Overall, I am highly committed to making a difference in the world of mental health and breaking cycles within the black community. I believe that my education and experience will allow me to achieve these goals and make a positive impact in the lives of others.
