I am a high school senior with plans to become a registered nurse. I believe my compassionate personality and life experiences will make this the perfect field. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 14 and have been inspired by the health care professionals I've met. I have never let diabetes define me or slow me down. I have learned to live well and persevere. My sister is currently in nursing school. She has also been inspired by my journey and the nurses we have encountered. We both live with my mother who is a single mom. Scholarships will help my family with medical expenses and college costs. Thanks for your consideration.
