From camping to stargazing I have loved the outdoors since I was a little kid. Every chance I had I was outside playing with dogs, horses, chickens, and anything else you might imagine to find on a small farm right outside of town. I think this lifestyle as a child led me to The Boy Scouts of America. As soon as I got to the first meeting I knew that I had made the right choice and I wanted to strive within the program. So I began working towards the highest achievement in Boy Scouts, becoming an Eagle Scout. After years of adventures, community service, volunteering, and rank advancements, all that was left to do was a service project. To complete the requirement, I decided that my Eagle Project would be to build a 15 x 20 foot pavilion at my church to house outdoor events. After 9 months of fundraising, recruiting, obtaining materials, and building, the pavilion was completed and exceeded expectations. In late November of 2024, I received the rank of Eagle Scout after 9 years of hard work and dedication. Although I have completed my scouting journey, I continue to be an active member in the troop to support those that follow in my footsteps. While beginning fundraising for my Eagle Project, my family was hit with some hard news; my mom was diagnosed with highly aggressive Breast Cancer. I watched my mother go through surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments. This was very hard on our family, but it was a testament to how we can persevere when we stick together. However, we were not alone on this journey; we were blessed by the support of friends, family and the community. This really drove home the ideals of scouting that I had been learning, that of trust, hope, and friendship. These experiences have given me reason to want to give back to the community. I believe that I can do this as a firefighter. I am applying to multiple scholarships and FAFSA currently because I plan on furthering my education by going to college and majoring in Emergency Management. I intend to use this degree to prepare me for leading rescue crews at natural disasters. In this position, it would be my responsibility to develop plans, manage a team, and effectively assist with recovery operations. Using my experience as a team leader and being an Eagle Scout, my goal is to move up in a fire department’s ranks. I know that in this role, I can continue to give back to the community. In this career, I hope that I can make a difference and be able to give the support that my community gave to me in my time of need.
I can give back to the community by encouraging safe and constructive use with technology. With my leadership position within the community I could directly impact youth and teens in a positive manner. I would teach things such as the effects bullying has, reasons not to do it, and how you are becoming a better person by not bullying.

I've also been enrolled in a Career Center class for Firefighting and EMT since my Junior year of high-school. I have done 8 hours of ER time, 21 hours of ride time with an ambulance, and have done real life training with fire equipment and tools. I have absolutely loved this program and can not wait to do more real world experience. I plan on furthering my education by going to college and majoring in Emergency Management.
