Bio

I am an ambitious individual who can be quite head-strong at times and is not new to overcoming challenges or obstacles. I usually put myself in challenging situations to keep my mind engaged as well as give myself the opportunity to break out of my zone of comfortability. This ensures I can learn new skills and efficient ways to handle real-world issues. I am constantly seeking ways to develop my leadership skills as well. I always yearn to be at the top of everything I do as well. Currently, I am an undergraduate student studying Political Science at the illustrious Southern University and A&M College located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After graduating, I plan on commissioning into the Navy as an officer to serve my country whilst pursuing career fields in intelligence as well as law. I am in search of anything that can help advance my career goals or aid the completion of any of my future goals. I like to live in the now but I also find it quite important to prepare for the future so that I don't struggle with anything that I might come into contact with. Preparedness is highly important to me. In addition to this, I would like to discover ways to heighten my self-awareness, resilience, as well as my confidence. I have come a long way and if you knew my story you would be proud too. It doesn't end here, though. I am ready to push through this next chapter of my life and open a new door of success and achievement. In my free time, I like to participate in some of my hobbies which include writing, reading, and baking. It's a great way for me to destress.

    Youssef University’s College Life Scholarship
A couple of years ago, if I was given $1,000, I would be quite ecstatic. So ecstatic that the money would be gone in a matter of days, maybe a week if I'm lucky. I would have attempted to buy anything under the sun. If I could have bought the sun, too, I'm sure I would have. The thing is I have always been quite savvy with my money but after I was hired at my first minimum wage job all of that dissipated. It was like money grew on trees. After my first year in college, my mindset has drastically shifted. So, if I got $1,000 I would use it to pay off many of the unexpected fees I face as a student and not have to scramble to find the money. This would further my education as it helps me stay in school and avoid the purge many students face due to unpaid fees. I have learned a lot about being financially literate in college. Things that I need such as note-taking materials and technological devices to access my classes are the top priority. I would ensure that I can eat by adding money to the balance of my dining hall account as well. I have made it a point to learn from my past mistakes and be savvier with money. The $1000 would be budgeted out to cover most of my necessities and make my college experience a bit easier.
