Success means to end my cycle of poverty. I believe in having a successful career will end my cycle of poverty. Having financial stability is my ultimate goal. I struggle with affording basic needs such as school supplies and food. My dream is to go to a university to have a career in cómo science. For me having a professional career will lead me to end my cycle of poverty. I want to be a able to provide and support my mother financially. This scholarship is crucial to achieve my dream in having a career in computer science by being able to attend and afford a university tuition. I know that if I can afford university I will be successful. My financial struggles hold me back but this scholarship will provide the relief I need. I know this scholarship will bring me success and more. I believe that with resilience it is possible to accomplish anything, as I am a person who doesn’t own a home and struggles with mental health issues, but I am never discouraged as those obstacles only make me a stronger person. Math has always fascinated me as it is very easy to comprehend and the problem has an answer that you can solve step by step, just like in life. I have always been good at math, which inspired me to want to advance more. Becoming a computer scientist requires many mathematical skills, which is one of the reasons why I believe I can accomplish my dream. Someone who is successful also shares their success with others. When I become successful I will share my success as much as I can with my community and anyone in need, and especially my family who have always provided me with support to have the motivation I need to succeed. Money is a very fundamental need for anyone in college or university as it is not easy to pay and especially for me, someone who has only lived from public benefits my whole life and is currently in extreme poverty. This scholarship will bring me the greatest opportunity for me to attend a university to be able to become a computer scientist, network, get an internship, graduate with experience and skill in computer science to the. My name is Adriana Vazquez and I am a Mexican American first generation to hopefully go to college. I am currently in High school. I would like to study cosmetology to own my own hair salon and to grow my business worldwide. What inspired me to choose cosmetology is because I love learning about hair care, I can quickly earn a certificate and I can be my own boss. What also inspired me is my current life situation, in which I am currently homeless and in extreme poverty with almost no support from no one. My father pated away a few years ago when I was 14 years old. When my father died we had to go in debt to pay his funeral and he was the one supporting our family financially. Soon after he died we were left homeless. I’ve always dreamed of attending college to obtain a good job in which I can support myself and my family. My mom always tells me that cosmetology is very profitable career because everyone in the world needs a haircut. Even in my current life situation I plan to never give up as cosmetology is something that I would love to do and seems like a job I would enjoy for the rest of my life as the certificate can be obtained in only 2 years of studying. What also inspires me is when I see people getting their hair done at a salon. I love when people go into a hair salon with hopes to change their looks to their desire and their wants being met. I would love to see my future clients’ looks and dreams come true. I would love that my clients will find my salon very reliable and perfect as well as making them happy. Since I was very young I have always love learning about hairstyles and haircuts and as I get older my interest becomes stronger. I now love learning about haircare as well as skincare. I have grown a huge interest in learning so much about hair care such as hair products, hair type, porosity, routines, tools, styling, haircuts and hair dying mainly because I have wavy hair and wanted to know how to take care of it and style it. What also inspires me is the thought into helping people like me to follow and achieve their goals in the future. What I mean by that is that I would like to create a pathway for students to intern in my hair salon to gain experience in cosmetology. I would also love that if my business becomes profitable I could help students with scholarships. To make students dreams more accessible I would plan to grow my business by opening more hair salons across the world so more people could get the opportunity. Overall I think cosmetology would bring me so many great opportunities for myself and others.
