Hi! I’m Adriana, an 18-year-old driven student from Las Vegas, graduating high school early and attending CSN to become a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. I’m passionate about women’s health and plan to specialize in OB/GYN sonography to support expecting mothers with care, accuracy, and empathy.
🌟 Outside of academics, I’m actively involved in my church, where I volunteer with youth programs and help organize community events. My faith keeps me grounded, motivates me to serve others, and inspires my future in healthcare.
I also enjoy creative work like digital design and visual art—skills I’ve developed since I was 11.
I believe in breaking barriers, chasing dreams early, and being a role model for other young Black girls who want to enter the medical field.
Let’s make greatness happen 💪🏾✨

The nursing industry interests me as a career choice because it combines compassion with science, and offers the opportunity to make a direct, meaningful impact in people’s lives. I’ve always admired the strength, empathy, and dedication that nurses bring to their work—especially in high-stress environments where care and calm are needed most. Nursing is not just a job; it’s a calling that requires heart, discipline, and a willingness to advocate for others. For someone like me, who finds fulfillment in helping people and has a strong interest in the medical field, nursing feels like the perfect fit.
One of my goals for a successful nursing career is to specialize in women’s health, specifically in the area of obstetrics and gynecology. I want to become an ultrasound technician or nurse who supports women during some of the most emotional and transformative times of their lives, from pregnancy to childbirth and beyond. I believe that providing informed, respectful, and compassionate care to women, especially those in underserved communities, is essential. In the long run, I aim to work in a hospital or clinic where I can continue to learn, grow, and eventually take on leadership roles that allow me to mentor others and contribute to healthcare improvements in my community.
I have had several personal accomplishments that have helped me pursue these goals. Graduating early from high school is one of the biggest milestones I’ve achieved. This decision wasn’t easy—it required extra coursework, strong time management, and a mature sense of responsibility. But it allowed me to get a head start on my college education and move closer to beginning my career in the medical field. I am currently enrolled at the College of Southern Nevada, where I am studying ultrasound technology with the goal of working in OB/GYN settings. This early academic achievement has taught me that dedication and hard work can open doors and create opportunities.
While I have not yet completed a formal medical internship, I have had personal experiences that have sparked my interest in healthcare. As someone who has dealt with close family members facing serious medical conditions, I’ve witnessed both the challenges and the importance of compassionate care. I’ve seen how nurses make a difference not just medically, but emotionally. These experiences made me realize how powerful it can be to offer someone comfort and support when they are at their most vulnerable. They’ve also driven me to learn more about how the body works, how to detect signs of health issues early, and how to be a reliable source of support in critical moments.
In addition, I plan to volunteer in medical environments such as clinics, hospitals, or women's health centers to gain hands-on experience and learn from professionals already in the field. I’m excited to build on my academic foundation with real-world knowledge, which I know will help me grow into a competent and compassionate nurse.
In conclusion, nursing inspires me because it is rooted in care, skill, and service. My goals are centered around becoming a specialized healthcare provider who uplifts and supports women through all stages of life. With hard work, continued education, and practical experience, I am determined to make a meaningful difference in the medical field and in the lives of the people I serve.

vMy education journey has been filled with growth, perseverance, and a strong commitment to achieving my dreams despite challenges. As an 18-year-old graduating early from Las Vegas Academy High School, I’ve always strived to push myself beyond expectations. Education has always been important to me, not just as a path to success, but as a foundation to becoming the best version of myself.
Throughout high school, I have taken advanced classes, balanced extracurricular activities, and stayed focused on my long-term goals. Attending a magnet school allowed me to grow in a creative environment while remaining academically driven. From the beginning, I knew I wanted to make an impact in the world, particularly in healthcare. Over time, I discovered my passion for becoming an ultrasound technician with a focus on OB/GYN. This decision was inspired by a desire to support women and mothers, especially during pregnancy—offering both care and comfort during life-changing moments. It’s a role that combines medical skill, empathy, and personal connection, and I’m excited to one day serve in that space.
In addition to school, I’ve worked hard to develop my personal interests and entrepreneurial spirit. I began creating digital art at age 11, and it’s grown into a small online business where I sell planners, printable art, and budgeting tools. This creative outlet not only helped me find confidence but also taught me important life skills—how to manage time, market a product, connect with customers, and stay motivated even when success isn’t immediate. I launched this project under the name ThatGirlDigitalCreations, and it has become a symbol of both my independence and creativity.
At the same time, I’ve been involved in starting a childcare business called Wonder Starz, designed to offer 24/7 child care to support working parents in Las Vegas. These experiences have shaped me into a young woman who dreams big and follows through, even when the odds feel stacked against her.
However, the road hasn’t been easy. My family and I have faced financial hardship, and while my parents have always believed in me, we simply don’t have the resources to fully cover the costs of higher education. I’ve taken on part-time work and used profits from my digital business to help save for college, but it’s still not enough to cover tuition, textbooks, transportation, and other essential costs. Every dollar counts. This scholarship would not only reduce that burden but would also give me the opportunity to focus fully on my studies without constant financial stress.
I will be attending the College of Southern Nevada to begin my journey toward becoming a diagnostic medical sonographer. My ultimate goal is to work in an OB/GYN setting, supporting women—especially young women of color—who deserve respectful, high-quality, and compassionate care. I hope to eventually create a nonprofit that supports young mothers with prenatal education and mental health resources, especially those in underrepresented communities.
This scholarship is more than financial support—it’s an investment in my potential and in my purpose. It would mean that someone believes in me and in what I’m working so hard to achieve. I am committed to giving back, lifting others as I climb, and using my education to make a real difference. Thank you for considering me for this opportunity.

I'm an African American 17-year-old girl who is in the stages of graduating early and I’m excited to share my academic interests and future goals with you. I’ve always wanted to be in the medical field, to help others in need. My goal is to become an obstetrician ultrasound technician. The idea of using ultrasound technology to help monitor pregnancies all over the world, check on babies to ensure their health before they are born, and assist doctors in discovering health conditions is truly inspiring. It amazes me how ultrasound technicians play such an important role in keeping both the mothers and their babies healthy every step of the way. With my education and training to become an ultrasound technologist, I would like to help provide better healthcare for women in all communities. I know not everyone has an easy way to access important screenings or appointments, and I want to be the person who makes a change in that problem, By ensuring that women get the right care they need while leaving with a smile on their faces. I hope to inspire other young people who are passionate about the healthcare role. Whether through volunteering, mentoring, or sharing my journey. I want to encourage others to go and pursue their goals and dreams fearlessly. It's important for me to not only follow my path but also uplift those around me, And be able to help them find ways to make a difference in their communities too. As I know mental illness has impacted my family. And then teaching me the importance of well-being. I know the feeling of having to see a loved one struggle with depression has made me more compassionate to help and support others. I would want to provide not just medical care but also more comfort to my patients showing them that I'm here if they need me any time id the day, so that they are comfortable at all times. Mental illness has taught me the importance of being patient and understanding, seeing that it has taken my family down deeply, with struggles and stress on my family helped me develop a strong sense of empathy. Wanting to be in the healthcare field shows that empathy is one of the biggest important skills. I would like to be the nurse or doctor that provides that for my patience and every shape. And I want my patience to be comfortable when coming into my office at all times.
