My name is Adilyn Rightmire and I will be graduating from Collinsville HS in Oklahoma. I have played soccer for 13+ years and have loved every moment of it. I will also be completing my certificate in Cosmetology this may as well, looking to use that as a possible job while going to school. For my tech school in Tulsa I received NTHS, where I also did not miss one day through the whole two year program. While playing soccer, high school, and tech school I also worked a part time job at Charlie’s Chicken. During this recent summer of 2025 I volunteered at Saint Francis hospital at the charity clinic my mom works for. Helping uninsured patients see providers and receive medication for free, that was very rewarding to be a part of. I am looking to go to school for Physical Therapy Assistant to start with and continue to attend school and advance further.

Soccer has always played a meaningful role in my life and has helped shape the person I am today. From a young age, the sport became something that brought my family together. Growing up, I often trained and practiced with my dad, and having him help teach me new moves or work on skills with me was both helpful and enjoyable. Training alongside him pushed me to improve while also building confidence and strengthening our bond. Soccer was never just a game to me; it was something that provided consistency and comfort, especially during times of change.
One thing I have always loved about soccer is that no matter where I moved, I knew I would be able to find a team to join. Soccer gave me a sense of belonging in new environments and helped me form friendships quickly. The first team I played on stayed together for five years, and during that time we grew not only as athletes but also as teammates and friends. Those years taught me commitment, trust, and the value of working together toward a common goal.
Over time, I have played for several different teams, including a competitive team that challenged me both physically and mentally. Playing competitively pushed me to work harder, stay disciplined, and handle pressure. Currently, I am proud to be a member of my high school’s varsity soccer team. Being on varsity has taught me leadership, accountability, and the importance of supporting others. Soccer has helped me step out of my comfort zone and grow more confident in myself. Through the sport, I have met many people who have had a positive impact on my life, and I have learned how to communicate effectively and build strong relationships.
Soccer also serves as my escape from everyday stress. When I step onto the field, I am able to clear my mind and focus only on the game in front of me. For an hour and a half, the worries of school, responsibilities, and personal challenges fade away. This mental break allows me to return to my daily life feeling refreshed and motivated. Soccer has taught me how to manage stress in a healthy way and maintain balance between academics, athletics, and personal life.
Along with my passion for soccer, I have clear academic and career goals for my future. I plan to attend a radiologic technology program and continue advancing my education beyond that. Both my mom and my grandma work in the healthcare field, and seeing the dedication and fulfillment they experience in their careers has inspired me to follow a similar path. Knowing that I would be helping individuals with their health and well-being is incredibly rewarding to me.
Radiology is especially appealing because of the many different areas available to explore and specialize in. The opportunity to continue learning, advancing my skills, and growing professionally excites me. I am motivated to work hard both on and off the field so that I can achieve my goals. The lessons I have learned through soccer—discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and dedication—will continue to guide me as I pursue a future in radiologic technology and beyond.
