My life goals: In the next ten years, I plan to obtain my PhD and be a post-doctoral student at a research institution. I will be a mentor to high school and undergraduate students. I will have chosen an area of interest and will have written multiple research papers. What I am passionate about: I am extremely passionate about helping others and giving back to my community. As I grow older, I plan to mentor young scientists, just as I was mentored throughout high school, and will be mentored throughout college. Why I am a wonderful candidate: I am a first-generation college student and the first in my family to be interested in the sciences. A scholarship would help me avoid private loans. I plan to participate in a research lab in college, as well as the Christian, soccer, and reading communities. I take joy in learning and have a positive mindset, even when I face setbacks. Scholarships gifted to me would be well used, as I am a person who is dedicated to my endeavors and is extremely perseverant.
