I have lived in Hudson, New Hampshire with my parents and little sister my whole life. Throughout childhood I had many small pets (fish, sugar gliders, guinea pigs), all of which taught me responsibility and care. I attended a small preschool and a private catholic school, Presentation of Mary Academy, from kindergarten until I joined the Academy for Science and Design (ASD) in 6th grade. At this school I learned values that I feel raised me into who I am today. Being the oldest out of all the cousins taught me leadership skills and responsibility growing up. At ASD, my favorite classes have been AP Statistics and AP Psychology.
When I was 9 years old, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I have met so many wonderful people who share the same experiences, and the American Diabetes Association summer camp that I attended for 2 years taught me valuable information. In my childhood, I tried many different sports: basketball, soccer, softball, kickboxing, and most recently, tennis. I enjoy trying new things, and in college I want to explore every opportunity I can. Something else that I enjoy is volunteer work. For the last 3 summers I have been a camp counselor at a STEM camp, and I love spending time with the kids and giving my time to their education. Helping others brings me joy, and I love having opportunities to volunteer.
